Hi, I today received a PCN whilst parking at the retail park which includes Aldi and Poundstretcher in Corporation Street, Preston. The PCN was issued at just after I entered the car park and states that I abused patron parking. The photographic evidence just shows my vehicle parked appropriately, with and without the PCN attached to the front windscreen.

From looking at threads from two years ago, I have today in the first instance emailed Aldi customers services indicating that I am aware that the planning consent allowed for shoppers to park in the car park for up to three hours and shop at the retail park and the town centre. I have not made contact with Ocean Parking who has issued the PCN as yet.  The previous threads talked about Care Parking not Ocean Parking

My friend who was with me shopped in Adli, paid cash so have no hard evidence that she shopped there. I shopped at Poundstretcher and have an electronic receipt that indicates the transaction was completed before the two hour parking window was reached.

What should I be doing next to get this PCN cancelled as I was a patron of the shops on the retail park.

Sounds like a windscreen PCN so do what the NEWBIES thread tells you to do on day 26!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Is this a  new tactic, they usually take photo of empty car then claim abused patron parking,
They will dismiss your appeal claiming planning is old and no longer applies, parking is in fact 2 hours as i noticed today.
Tomorrow i will pm you land agents contact name she is difficult to get on with but if you have prove of shopping there it should work .

What on earth does this nonsense mean in English, it sounds like they are trying to trap the keeper to admit to doing something as they haven't got a reason yet.

They are saying parking is for patrons of the site only, they usually say there operative observers driver leaving site after taking photo of empty car.

@Mrs_Bond can you provide a view of the PCN (suitably redacted) and any pictures of the signs in the car park? This will assist the expert regulars on here to understand precisely how this would be handled.

In the meantime, you MUST read the Newbies thread that is near the top of this forum as it explains in great detail the process and the steps you must follow to get this PCN cancelled. It may seem daunting but you will learn a lot from this and hopefully be able to point your friends and family in future should they become victims of these private parking company scammers.

Here is a direct link to the Newbies thread: **NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!

I know how the "leaving site scam works" the most prolific users of that ruse are UKPC but "abused patron parking" is a bit more ambiguous and they could bend that to suit whatever they want is my point, never trust a politician or a PPC.
Abused patron parking could mean; left site, over stayed anything they dream up.

How does a photo of an empty car prove the driver left the site?  Do these idiotic PPCs believe that people should just drive to a car park, park there and sit in their car, not going into any of the retail units?
