And can you confirm why a replaceable battery is a requirement? There may be other options.
Well, why should I pay some scalper what they think they can get away with to replace a mobile phone battery? What other options do you have in mind? I'm becoming aware of Feature phones that are perfectly good for what I wantk_man said:james_smitha said:Many thanks every oneEssexExile a good read, I've messaged Nokia to ask if there are any others.K_man you ask me about non-android, I'm open minded but trying to avoid Apple that are expensiveBuff I'm vaguely aware that the eu is not happy about this situation so will certainly have a propper read

However, the original question related specifically to Android smart phones, which have a supported life of upto 6 years. Mobile batteries usually last at least that long, so the need to replace batteries is very rare.
As this has now moved to feature phones, this changes a little, but even then, not many mobile phones are still in use after 10 years, as mobile technology evolves (2g to 3g to 4g to 5g etc).
However, if a user replaceable battery is an absolute requirement then just be aware that this limits choice, and may add extra cost upfront.

k_man Many thanks for your reply. All I need is the least fancy mobile phone to make and receive calls and text messages. 4G, replaceable battery and not being reliant on security updates are the requirements. I read too many thimes that phones only get 2 years of updates, then in the skip

As for replaceable battery, I guess the kind of phone you are talking about will not need to be charged very often so its battery won't need replacing for proportionally longer than a smartphone which would often need to be charged every day.0
