No doubt the new oxo "cube" will have less in it,but I am sure I can find better things to have a moan about,if needed.

No, I read that article. It will have the same content, just more compacted to make up for the sides being cut out. Apparently the new shape makes it easier to crumble....

Sorry to bring up such an old post, but has anyone seen these in stock anywhere? Tried poundstores around the country, poundstretchers, poundland, poundworld etc etc, also tried farmfoods, and no joy, and running out of supplies slowly? Thanks :)

B&M Bargains still have it instock but... They don't go as far south as essex!

...and as for the cubes, try rolling the cube while it's still wrapped. It crumbles inside: keeps it tidy and is easy to pour out when finished!

I flicked though something in the newspaper today which suggested that Oxo cubes are going to change shape and will now be in the form of an "X". What nonsense is this? Are we going to have to pay extra for the contents just to fund the huge machinery costs involved for making these new shapes so that they can perhaps grab a bigger share of the market?
Same size in the wrapper but smaller as the x has a "waist" of course...have to think what kind of numpty cant crumble an oxo... It's the other brands that dont crumble or dissolve.

100 yrs almost and nobody has had a problem with the shape til now. Why must companies change what isnt broken?:confused::confused:

I have just come to the end of my supply of Oxo Mexican cubes which are great for fajitas. I have tried searching for the last 6 months and have not been able to find an equivilant. Does any one have any suggestions?

I normally throw on some paprika and chilli powder while cooking the chicken, and they taste lovely. Much cheaper than buying cubes or the sachets of fajita seasoning.
OT but, I do mention stock cubes ;) ... here's a home made Fajita seasoning recipe, it makes the equivalent of 1 sachet & I reckon it costs less than 5p

1 Tablespoon cornflour or maize meal
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder (or to taste)
    1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika (half & half with smoked paprika is an interesting variation)
    1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon stock powder or crumbled stock cube
1/2 teaspoon onion granules (herb & spice section in supermarket)
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cummin

extremely OT, but I promise not to mention it again in this thread :silenced: ... Becles, I'm still looking for those pics, they're here (or there) somewhere!

The only "cheat" gravy worth using is Anthony Worrall-Thompson's gravy paste. It's gorgeous. Those granules are revolting and I've no idea why anyone would use bisto or oxo, they're disgusting!

Awt Also no longer manufactered and it was gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!

I have managed to get hold of some Oxo so if anyone would like some, I can post it on. Unfortunately, I can only get hold of it in 1kg containers, but if you use a lot, or have family/friends, you could split it with them. Postage would be quite expensive as it weighs a kilo, but it would cost £18 for the kilo to be bought and posted to you.

Let me know if anyone is interested. Or if a couple of people would like some, I don't mind breaking the box down into 250g perhaps, which would make posting an awful lot cheaper.
