Be good if someone could test this but, of course, the first pay-outs might not be for another nine weeks.Bridlington1 said:
I see no reason why it won't. All they will see is Tesco spend £xx. They won't know what you've bought. When Virgin had the 25% supermarket cashback offer I bought £640 worth of gift cards in supermarkets (including some Argos vouchers in a Sainsbury's local) and that worked fine.CuriousGirl said:I am wondering if purchasing a gift card at Tesco would qualify for the offer? Makes sense to give them a call to ask .flaneurs_lobster said:

Hmmm, might have to send off for a PIN reminder
I've got a bit of credit left on a Sainsbury's Christmas club gift card, which had 5% added, then I was expecting to use a prepaid debit card that offers 3.5% cashback, but those can both wait until the end of this0 -
Nationwide won't know how Tesco are going to categorise sales of their giftcards. If it's lumped in with the rest of your shopping, Nationwide will only know that you've spent the money at Tesco. If you buy the giftcards online from www.tescogiftcards.com, it might well be different.CuriousGirl said:

If I remember rightly someone here did actually ring VM re the gift cards and cashback and VM confirmed they'd be ok. I am hoping it is the case with Nationwide too.EarthBoy said:Nationwide won't know how Tesco are going to categorise sales of their giftcards. I did read the terms and conditions of the offer. First thing I did. I normally get 1% cashback on my shopping spend at Supermarkets. My post make perfect sense to me.Band7 said:
How will you make £200 a month from this? There’s a £10 per month limit per card, so you’d need 20 qualifying current accounts and spend £4,000 on food a month. There are also all sorts of exclusions. Sorry. Read the T&Cs.Merlin139 said:Excellent Spot Bridlington1.
Will make full use of that over the next 3 months. £200 per month.
The trouble is too many people spend time sat around looking to pick holes in what has been written. You can go round picking holes in peoples post as much as you want. Obviously nothing better to do with your time.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds3 -
Offer just popped up in my NW app. I've only got the account after switching a few months ago - still have just two DDs on it - so will start using the account for supermarket shops now

Thanks to the OP.
I have not heard from them yet - had an account for around 25 years.
The t&c seem a bit vague best get out our crystal balls?
"The qualifying stores may vary from time to time based on how they’re registered with VISA. And not all supermarket locations in a chain may qualify."
Whether you do your shopping at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda or Aldi. Or if you shop at Morrisons, Lidl, Waitrose or the Co-op. These are just some of the shops likely to be included.
Likely? A yes or no would help?

Having read the T&C, I noticed item 12 mentioned about the offer being withdrawn if “the funds made available for this offer have been exhausted”.
An article, on the Daily Mail/This is Money website, has now confirmed there is £99million in the cashback pot.

I've just made an extra trip (in the car) to buy extra stuff at Tesco just to save 5%. It'd better qualify or I shall have a proper huffy.MACKEM99 said:Thanks to the OP.
