See you for the Public Consultation this month.   We need to get the new statutory Code of Practice over the line and the DLUHC's update is due in July.
Would you mind sharing the details - how can I attend?

  • Afternoon! So I finally had a response from Gladstones; was actually in November but somehow slipped past me and I’ve only just seen it now. Response as follows:

    Good Morning,

We write in relation to the above matter and in receipt of your correspondence dated 8th July 2023. We apologise for the delay in responding.

By way of background, the charge was incurred as a result of displaying a permit which was tampered with/ photocopied or unreadable. As per the signage (as attached) vehicles must fully display a valid permit in order to park at the site. Please see attached images of your vehicle, with the permit not on full display. If you could not adhere to the terms and conditions of the site, as per the signage, you agree to pay the charge displayed on the signage.

As a result, the charge was issued correctly. The sum of £170 remains outstanding.

Payment can be made via bank transfer to the account detailed as follows:

    (Account details)

Alternatively, you can make payment online atwww.gladstonessolicitors.co.uk or via the automated payment line on 0333 0230 049 quoting your reference.

You must include your reference when making payment. If you fail to do so, we may be unable to allocate your payment. This may result in further costs being incurred, for which you will be liable.

Should payment not be received by the 27th December 2023 our client may elect to issue further legal proceedings without further notice.

    Kind regards,

    Legal Assistant

Obviously that date has passed as I’ve only just seen the email but wondering if any response is advised at this point or just wait for court?

    Thanks!

Reply using the new suggested questions about VAT (in the Newbies thread LBC bit in the second post).

Since the site doesn't offer parking to anyone else.

Arguably it is not even accessible to anyone else. basically the only impact of that sign is to penalise residents for not displaying a paper disc that their tenancy or lease obligations don't require. Nice.

So what is actually the purpose of the parking scheme with the landowner? Get disclosure of that, because it sure as hell won't be this.

Think I found it, two questions, first one referencing VAT. I’ll put that response to them via email as their response above was via email also - saves me wasting my good paper!

That done I assume it’s simply a matter of waiting to see if they give up or the next step will be them inviting me to court? I just wish they would hurry up and get on with it, this ticket was issued December 2022!
