Just out of interest who do your direct debits go to?0

The FAQ question said Vodafone and was talking about terminating the contract early so yes was specific to Vodafone.

The last time I ported away early from a Vodafone contract (albeit only a couple of weeks before the end) I recall it took two billing cycles to clear down the account. I'd definitely heed the advice above and don't spend that cash just yet.1
