Kitchen Knives 25yr Guarantee

I dropped a knife and the handle snapped in half. I was going to try returning it just to see what they say but Sod’s law that was the only receipt I couldn’t find. I’d probably give it a go but expect to be knocked back. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I couldn't actually see anything at all on their website about a 25 year guarantee, but perhaps this was in place when the knives were originally bought (I don't think the OP has mentioned how long ago that was) and it's mentioned in the T&Cs that they have.

I wouldn’t expect a good quality knife to break so easily. Most solid metal wouldn't. I have 3 knives which are well over 35 years old and they have been dropped umpteen times, probably abused as I bung them in the dishwasher and still look good and work perfectly well. They wouldn’t have cost a fortune as 35 years ago I didn’t have a fortune to spend on knives.1

If the knife fell flat on its side then a quality knife should not break and would possibly indicate a manufacturing quality issue.
But... how much of the tip broke off? How big is the knife? You can get them re-cut/ground if the tip breaks off, or just use it without the tip, as the tip is rarely used when cutting!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)2 -

The manufacturer might just be lenient on any long-life claims that do come in as the cost to challenge is possibly not worth it.
Take the evidence you have and the broken knife tip to Fenwick's and see what they say.0 -
A 25 year guarantee has nothing to do with Fenwick's.0

That makes the rest of the thread pointless.
Just like grandadgolfer's kitchen knife5 -
Dropping a knife on the floor is accidental damage which is rarely covered under warranty. They’ve lasted you for 9 years so I highly doubt there’s anything wrong with the quality. As it is though, the warranty is useless anyway given they are no longer trading and you don’t have any consumer rights to fall back on as it’s been 9 years since purchase.0
