And I'm going from £26/month to £33/month. I'm not going to stay and we've recently gotten fiber at my location so I'm tempted to go for that, how soon could I get out of my contract, do I need to wait for the email to be sent? Or could I contact them and give them notice etc?

All became clear - in my TalkTalk a/c was a refund button for the two months payments!
TT have confirmed that the sum will be paid direct to my current a/c., in which case all's well that ends well !
