A Case Stay is a ruling by a court to stop or suspend a proceeding or trial temporarily or indefinitely.
A court may later lift the stay and continue the proceeding.

Just and update.
Received a letter from the CC. It says it is now up to the claimant to pay a £27 fee before 15th of October for the matter to be taken further in court. In peoples experience will they take the matter forward or am I just being hopeful.0 -
Most claimants pay the fee in time. Don't hang your hat on the fact that they might not. Even when they don't and the case gets stayed, they then complain that it must have been an admin error and they are given more time and no sanctions!2

Yes, the letter said something along the lines that they were no longer `continuing with the claim and they would notify the courts also. Sorry, paraphrasing from memory.2
