We have the French door Fisher & Paykel. Absolutely delighted with it.

It does have water and ice but you can't see them from the outside. There is a beverage centre and the ice is made in two different sizes and stored in trays in the freezer. Apparently the right hand side of the freezer can also be made into a fridge but there's plenty of fridge space for us so I haven't really looked at that. Hopefully it will last us a long time...

Keep an eye on the prices - they do fluctuate regularly! £1999 at some retailers over Black Friday, then went back up to around £2500-£3500 in most online stores. Then Samsung launched the December cashback offer - most places maintained the high price, but one retailer had dropped back down to £2099. With the cashback, this made it even cheaper than black Friday. I'm sure the next offer is just around the corner!
I was also worried about the Samsung fridge reputation - however, they now offer a 20 year warranty on the inverter and I think a 5 year warranty otherwise, which is the main reason we decided to go for it. My folks have also had a Samsung fridge/freezer (with water/ice( for the last 20 years and have had no issues with it.
Maybe it was/is just their s/a freezers (they have very thin walls compared with the competition to get more capacity), and not the french door style. Warranties don't help when you lose a load of food and they deny its their fault.0 -
I must admit I only looked at the reviews for the one I bought, and they were good. I didn't think to look at them more generally. Hopefully these French door ones are better, they should be for the price!
I had an issue with their ovens too, a few years ago. Swore I'd never buy another Samsung oven.
Love their TVs and phones though!0 -
@NatNat77, the OH was convinced!
So much so, she's suggested we just get on and buy it whilst it's around the £2.1k mark. Sounds from others' experiences though that it might be cheaper at some point so we'll hang fire. Only concern is getting it before they replace it with the ghastly iPad screen one!1 -
Don't suppose anyone has experience of the Samsung Jet cordless vacuums? The 15% off two appliances deal means I could get one for £8...0

We are on our second Samsung American fridge freezer. The first lasted 14 years. It developed the classic fault after about 5 years and a Samsung fixed it under warranty. This one is about 3 years old, chosen because it was the same size as the old one and I need that to fit the gap. It developed a similar fault and Samsung sent out one of their approved engineers, who said that he was very surprised that it has happened with this model as it really shouldn’t. Anyway, he replaced some parts under warranty. I reported the fault on a Friday and the engineer appeared on a Sunday, my only complaint was that we hadn’t had a call to say when he was coming, so it was luck we were home.
(classic fault is when there is a build up of ice around the fan, stopping the fan from working causing uneven cooling in the fridge. The freezer was fine.)I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. The pricing on this Samsung is barmy!
It was on at £1.9k in several places and I was going to head to Currys to see about a price match tomorrow morning (need to use up some vouchers). Then, today, it's shot up to £3.6k everywhere!
Madness. Think I'll be hanging fire for now! @Sophie4120, I assume that a similar experience to when you were looking for it, just that I need to be a bit patient?0 -

@Chickereeeee, that's the FB1 (black) model, I think? We're after the FS9 (inox) model.
If you do have a link to the FS9, that would be terrific. If AC means Appliance City, it's out of stock at £1.89k.0 -
