Please tell us that you haven't used ccleaner to check/clean the ragstry.peter021072 said:
I've only ran the windows 11 built in security. It only found this as a potentially unwanted file of low importance.debitcardmayhem said:I just checked back on the thread no one has suggested it yet and I see the entry for prm.sys(in the dump) doesn't look so good , but that could be a red herring.

I used to run Ccleaner weekly on my old laptop without any problems. I don't regularly use Ccleaner on this one, in fact I may have used it only once, but I certainly wouldn't have changed the registry with it.0

I thought I might revive this thread, as the problem of restarting was never resolved, it just exhausted me after going through the various suggestions on this thread and other bluescreen of death checks, all of which come up with no faults detected. In fact it has been getting more frequent lately to the point it restarts about once a day now.noitsnotme said:I had this problem a couple of months ago and it turned out to be a knackered PSU. Replaced that with an identical one I found on eBay and the random reboots have gone away.
Mine is a much older PC, long out of warranty. If you have option of repair under warranty then definitely do that.
I’d be careful about just living with it. Random shutdowns can cause software corruptions that will add to your problems.
I was going to start with a new Power supply unit 19.5v, 6A L57117-001, seems to be a 7.4mm 5mm socket, although I might be throwing good money after bad. I might try to power the computer from a different mains socket first (I've already tried bypassing the 6 way adapter which it was originally connected through).
Incidentally I notice the screen sometimes (but not always) flickers and comes back on for a fraction of a second, before it fully restarts. Sometimes it flickers and doesn't restart.
I recall on my last computer I had a program running which told me which programs were running and how much memory or RAM each was using in real time, perhaps something like that for windows 11 might be useful?0
