NST: February 2023 Freedom

Setting up my goals for February
F - Freedom - Emails will get blocked unsubscribed from as they come in. Our conservatory needs my full attention to be declutter and organised so it’s free to use as a conservatory for the spring.
E - Aiming for 5000 steps a day & am going to do 100 skips a day for February.
B - Budget- My payrise was a bit short of what I’d calculated but better than nothing. Set up monthly standing order to premium bonds, upped my saving to December and emergency fund and started a gifts pot so that’s all taken care of. All events budgeted for and money kept towards half term to pay for footy camp. I have a free council tax month so I’ve put that in my clothes pot for when we go to Oz.
R - Rules - My routine/rules need looking at. Reduce washing machine usage and keep heating a bit lower. Will keep to my ‘buy something new, something must go’ rule and check I’m on target for my 23 things to do in 2023 goals.
U - Unburden, Use up - Will sort toiletries out as could definitely use some things out of there. Always take my lunch to work.
A - I’ve increased my hours by 4 hours a week. Planning were the extra money will go. I will pay off my debt a bit more so can start saving my Florida 2025.
R - Refuel & Rest - I’m using this month to try to lose weight (again). I’m using slimquick for the 1st week. I also want to eat nourishing food. I’ve started drinking water and will use this section to record alcohol free days. I also want decent sleep.
Y - You - Just booked a hair appointment but need to do something for myself that isn’t scrolling through my phone constantly.
2 - 2 trips out - I have one arranged and the other one may be a cinema trip at half term.
0 - 100 days 11/5/23 debt under £5500, 21lbs less than I am now.
2 - Read 2 books - will try this
3 - Gratitudes - will think of 3 each day.
15 NSDs - will try.
Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2608 -
February challenge - am waiting for dinner so might just as well keep going:
Right at the beginning May I will be working hard, planning the summer, hoping to have solved a slump between DWP and HMRC they have lost about £100 I have paid into over paid tax credits, my garden will be working with what's there, and I genuinely look forwards to the spring.
Freedom
I feel I could fill a skip, by spring I would like to have been through most of my house and have books on my shelves and clothes in my cupboard I am proud of!
Exercise I generally try to do 2-3 runs, a walk and I try to fit in 2-3 gym/swim sessions in my gym membership.
Budgets. This spring I will be back on my budget horse and while staying generous, where needed, be firm and fast on the budget side of things to be free to do the big stuff.
Rules I am very bad with rules, I love to break rules, the fun thing is you can only break the rules if they are there, so I try to have good rutines and then have fun when I actually break the rules.
Unburden yep it is time, stuff does keep sneaking in.
Advance planning: February is a great time to pick up on socialising, I try to stick with active stuff - it is fun to do things together.
2 trips out this month - my first trip was on Sunday when I went to the Tate, the next one will be half term, not exactly planned yet. .
I am trying to read the Dawn of Everything, and that counts for at least two books, but I don't think I'll complete it in February
Welcome to February.

Hello🐢🐢🐢
Thank you @apple_muncher for setting up the challenge.
I'm throwing myself in to all the sections as they "fit" the random thoughts in my head just now, so I apologise in advance for the essay that's coming!
Freedom- mostly from stuff- see unburden before! Free fun- we have family visiting and I have a couple of days off when DD has half term so I will get plotting for that
Exercise- ride my horse, we both have to get fitter after doing very little while the weather has been bad, so fingers crossed for some dry, calm days. I always aim for 10000 steps a day, but an overall aim of over 100 000 a week (I do this most weeks).
Budgets- should all be OK provided nothing breaks!
Rules- do I need it? And is I buy it I must get rid of something!
Unburden- no actual target but I must declutter- I have a cupboard which is a bit of a dumping ground (it's HUGE) which I'd like to organise better and I'm sure some of it can be got rid of. My kitchen cupboards are full so if I plan better I can use some of those up and reduce my shopping bills!
Advance planning- I'm looking well in the future, but I have 2 old pension funds with not a huge amount in them, so my task for the month is to work out if I should merge them with my new larger pot or leave them alone, and if I leave them do I increase my payment into my current pot or Starr adding to the old ones again?
Recharge and Refuel- walk at lunchtime, spend some planned relaxing time with DD and meal plan all week!
2 trips out- I suspect more will happen (just because family and school holidays), but I will minimise the costs.
2 books- I have about 10 waiting to be read so this should be OK.
100 days- finish my decorating that I'm mid-way through! By Spring I want the whole house apart from 1 room painted (the final room is next winters project).
15 NSDs - hopefully!
If anyone has read all this, thank you. I will refer back to the list at the end of the month and see how I did!9 -
Please count me in @apple_muncher. Expect the numbers will have already been allocated, but if #18 is free, I'd be a happy turtle 😃
I too am aiming for 100 skips per day. Have done yoga most of January, which I'd like to continue, but I'd like to lose quite a bit of weight, so the skipping might help. Have LOTS to declutter in our house, garage, sheds, etc & try to earn extra (by selling?) to top up our holiday & extension funds.
Lots of inspiration from you all, thank you. Together we CAN do this!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
