We are fortunate in that our house is at the end of a cul de sac of five houses off a larger development and we have no passing pedestrian or vehicle traffic so the risk of theft from our letterbox or porch area is very small.
We have had many deliveries ranging from small parcels to large boxes of wine left outside our front door and none have ever gone missing.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -

I don't have a problem but this story and photo may be of interest in the ongoing saga of Evri missing parcels and deliveries.
I have just received a delivery of a Blu Ray disk bought on eBay and despatched via Evri. The delivery lady did not ring the bell or knock but I did hear the letterbox open so I opened the front door and thanked her as she was walking back to her van.
Shortly afterwards I received an Evri delivery confirmation email with the below photograph. You can just see a tiny bit of the jiffy bag sticking out of my letterbox but otherwise it confirms nothing. It would require a visit to my front door to prove that is my letterbox and could be anything sticking out of my letterbox.
There is a background to this purchase but I will start another thread for that.

We have four disputes with Evri at the moment, all deliveries logged in their tracking as "secure parcel box" at our address. We don't have a parcel box, their photo shows what's clearly just a plastic box so not "secure" and on the relevant dates they definitely did not come to our address. So wherever they're leaving these is at least 1/2 mile from our property, and as of now they can't or won't tell us where.Because the tracking says "delivered" the sellers aren't prepared to take any action, they say we need to raise a dispute with EvriHas anyone found any usable line of communication to Evri? Their chat-bot is useless because it won't progress without a tracking number, then just says "delivered" and can't help any further. Even if you select the "not related to a parcel" option, the bot won't progress without a tracking number. So I can't even log a request to stop them dumping our parcels at random locations because they can't be arsed to come to our house.Phone line is the same, you need to laboriously read out the tracking number then it says it's delivered and can't help any further.0

Qyburn, you do not have a contract with Evri so you will get nowhere with them.
You need to pursue this through the sellers who presumably made the delivery arrangements with Evri.
How did you buy the four items?

Yes a picture of the letterbox shows it could possibly be the correct address, but it doesn't prove they have delivered anything. What's stopping a dodgy Evri driver from placing an empty jiffy envelope half way into a letterbox and stating 'item delivered'?
Not sure how this one is solved other then a signature on delivery, or a photo of the item being actually handed across the visible door....0 -

As to signature or photo... that sill doesnt stop the remove the high value contents and replace with low value junk of equiv weight and reseal. Plus with signatures you always get the unintelligible squiggle that the driver claims some put on the form but the recipient claims no one in the property signs like that (equally open to dodgy recipients to intentionally do the wrong signature to later deny the delivery).
Ultimately delivery is heavily based on trust and honesty and thankfully most would rather a job and no criminal record than an iPhone that they have to fence for half its value before it gets blocked..0 -
This is all assuming Evri turn up!
Had an email stating a parcel was due out today between 12:00 - 13:00.
Great, I thought - I'll pop home from work for my lunch break and wait for it......
Just had my doorbell go off now - at 14:30!
Fortunately my neighbour was in and able to take delivery for me!
Also, something must have gone round the company, as previously I could ask the delivery driver to leave a package in a secure location, or I would remotely unlock my car for him to place it in the boot, after which I'd lock it again - but the last time I asked he said he's not able to do that any more......0 -

You need to pursue this through the sellers who presumably made the delivery arrangements with Evri. Thanks, as I already stated at least some of the sellers were refusing to accept non-delivery, one was an Ebay seller and Ebay backed them, as far as both seller and Ebay were concerned if Evri stated delivered to our address the onus was on us to prove otherwise. Ebay suggested I email Evri's CEO and ask to "dispute" the delivery. The Ebay guy said they get these mis-delivery reports "all the time" with Evri, but they have to follow this process. As it happened that did not make much progress. However I also raised my complaint on Resolver and after a few days I got back full reports from Evri agreeing that two of the parcels had been delivered to an incorrect address, one lost in their system and one found and expected to be delivered.Using these reports one seller offered to send replacement items via Royal Mail, one refunded. The other "incorrect address" was the one where Ebay had ruled against me, but after I uploaded the Resolver transcript they reversed that decision and issued a refund. I have slight sympathy for that last seller as he is presumably out of pocket. But only slightly because he basically refused to follow up with Evri or enter into any discussion.Legally I'm not sure how it would have gone. Agreed that my contract was with the sellers, not Evri, but you don't have to have a contract to be liable in law. I think the question is whether the carrier has a duty of care to the recipient and whether he was negligent in making at best incorrect reports.
