Well here is a turn up for the books. You know how I “accidentally” ordered a Gousto box last week? It turns out that I didn’t order it at all. They say you can pause at any time, but apparently if you leave the basket empty, they will just order 4 random meals for you. They have taken another order today, which is how I came to realise this.Pretty annoyed because I am guessing I missed that part, and didn’t realise you had to actively go to another part of the app to pause the subscription.Thankfully they are refunding 50%, which I decided to accept because I wouldn’t be able to buy the ingredients for what the meals will now cost, so it ends up being a cheap enough option. I have fully cancelled the account now, and cancelled the payment authorisation but sheesh.Debt Free Journey started 21.05.20178

Hi, everyone,
I've just come over from the Jan thread and surprised it's page 6 already. I need to catch up with all the news!!£199.36p for February please.
i know it's a funny amount but I work on a daily amount - 7.12 for the two of us, to cover everything I get from a supermarket, plus treats for the geese7 -
A quick payday top-up of catfood and a couple of other items at W8rose has cost us £7.42; I normally don't count pet or livestock food as I get it in bulk online, but the January box arrived early, the February box won't be here until 3rd, and they've eaten all of January's! I'll also be heading down to L!dls tomorrow for the non-perishables, and may get as far as the small oriental grocers too, and then I can work out what I have left to spend on fresh bits per week. It looks like DD1 & the BF will be with us 4 nights a week from now until the middle of March, so £450 is probably about right (if not very ambitious) for 3 full-time inhabitants and 2 part-timers!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6

Hello February!
I’m aiming for £150 this month, for just myself.
I’ve set £20 aside for miscellaneous purchases, which had to come out of my grocery budget last month. Having a separate category for little unexpected expenses should mean I can pull that grocery spend down for this month.‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. Thank you elsiepac for doing this thread. As I keep saying this thread really does help keep us accountable, even if some of us blow the budget it would be worse if we weren't on here I'm sure.
Our February budget is going to be £224.
The month goes 1st to the 28thThis is for two adults, my OH and I, and a chinchilla. Includes all food and drink (except alcohol, that has a different budget), cleaning products, toiletries etc and all chinchilla items (food, hay, sand, treats etc.).£0/£224.£224 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy9 -
Hey folks. Our first spend for February is a £72.28 Tesco delivery order arriving this afternoon. We still have lots of veg but this was more so restocking us for dairy, fruit and other staples. Shredded mozzarella, cheddar, goat cheese, Port Salut, ricotta, milk, yoghurt, butter, leeks, eggplant, zucchini, herbs, strawberries, pineapple, bananas, oranges and clementines, chilies, onions, sweet potatoes, pasta, EVOO, Kleenex tissues, eggs, bran flakes, beef meatballs, and some other stuff.
Annoyingly, the salmon tails, turkey legs, and nicer eggs I ordered were unavailable, so I'll likely venture out on Friday to Tesco for them.
£72.28/ £330.00 spent so far. £257.22 remaining
I've pulled some meatball/tomato sauce, some passata, and some beef lorne sausage from the freezer. We have leftover meat sauces and fresh lasagna sheets in the fridge so I'm going to make a lasagna using the mozzarella, ricotta, and meatballs coming in today's order. The freezer seems to be emptying nicely.
COOKING PLAN FOR THE WEEK:
Breakfasts: Eggs and beans for Mr. Jings; For me - oatmeal w/toppings (fruit, seeds, nut butters, etc) and beef lorne sausage; crisp bread topped with goat cheese and smoked salmon.
Meatball and vegetable lasagna - uses up meatballs, meat sauce, cavolo nero kale, mushrooms, etc.
Random freezer soup - I have no idea what they are, just pulling them out and seeing what we get.
Seafood chowder with some of the smoked fish arriving tomorrow.
