£150 for me please
I think I've got a good freezer system going now. Saving plenty on bread by only buying YS when I find it then freezing it. I've got lots of portions of sweet potato curry left and I'll batch cook some chilli next week to keep it company.9 -
otb666 said:@Suffolk_lass Thank you for your lovely reply. We do already track spending on whiteboard. Since retirement I have let hubby cook and shop for himself as well as adult child. This means we have mostly three different meals a day. I know this is a huge extravagance but whilst we can afford to we dont want to change this. This also saves my sanity. I know I am cheap as mostly eat vegetables Hubby is a huge meat eater and child has lots of noodles and curries. It works for us and means my time is my own.8

Please book me in for £200 for the month
I am only on January allowance which was withdrawn on the 24th so currently I am behind. We did exceptionally in December. Still aiming to not remove pennies till month end and as we are behind at the moment I will continue in this vein. However an adjustment maybe best at a later point to include any spends, i.e butcher purchases, toiletries, and check the TGTG purchases as they need paying back to the bills account to keep that balance in check.

My budget includes all groceries and household items bought at supermarkets and local shops but not our now monthly, used to be weekly(!) takeaway as this comes from our personal 'pocket money'.
Going to retain my budget value from January as we were eating a lot of Christmas left overs last month so this will be a reasonably stretching target without feeling impossible.Budget £500 for Feb

Hello,
I am aiming for £420 for February please.
I am going to withdraw the cash on the 1st and use that instead of my Mr T Ccard, so hopefully the savings make up for the missed CC points. I pay this off in full every month and save the points for Christmas.
I also plan to teach my eldest daughter how to meal plan and write a shopping list tomorrow afternoon. She's just turned 13 and this is a life skill I ve only recently mastered.Grocery Challenge 🍇🍈🍉🍊🍋🍌🍍

Oooh, February's a hard one! Doesn't help that I don't know how many I'm feeding & for how long... I think we'll mostly be 5, sometimes only 3, and I'm away for one weekend although I'll still be doing the weekly shop before I go. It's possible that DD1 & her BF will spend some of the time at his mother's place as she's off south for some sunshine, but I think his work is mostly booked up here in the east so maybe not - 30 miles each way, daily, for each of them, is a lot of fuel money that doesn't have to be spent. Anyway, I think I'll try for
£450 for February, please
to feed 3-5 adults (no visitors expected, for once) 3 omnivores & 2 pescatarians, and see how we go. No allotment produce, sadly - the frosts got anything the pigeons & pheasants had left.
