I have probably never had a worse bank experience in my life than Santander. Do some research on Google, check the reviews, and decide if it is worth the risk to have direct debits through them. 

It's only worth taking the risk if you start switching for free money now...because you'll have an option later to move away... however, for people like me who switched all the bank offers last year, the option to get stuck with them is very high.

I think Santander have improved over the years and seem to be getting on better. Their digital services are good although their call centre can be a bit awkward depending on the time of your call.

My parents used Santander for around 25 years until they paid out on a direct debit which they were explicitly told not to pay out on, and the attitude of my local branch manager left a lot to be desired. Then switched to HSBC Premier and very quickly again to first direct.

Also recently dealt with a Santander bereavement which was a bit of a hassle and probably the worst out of all of their providers (Halifax second worst, then Virgin Money and Nationwide were the best).

Has anyone else received theirs yet? It's all gone a bit quiet. My account is borderline dormant since the minimum deposit in-and-out on 30th Jan and I've still had the odd £1 squeaking out via Plum and Paypal, so technically all of the T&Cs are satisfied

Not me and the 60 days are up but I read some they have another 30 days

Santander is my regular bank and I did the switch in over the phone with the switching team

I applied a couple of days before the offer finished. I know the blurb says payment takes 90 days, but I still get a bit nervous that i have missed meeting a requirement!
