Morning. No POPLA code, as my appeal with Premier Park hasn't yet been concluded... I will let Premier Park know then that I have the parking receipt.

Hi there, me again. Just an update -- I provided Premier Parking with a copy of the parking receipt an explained the keying error then went about my business, expecting to receive a letter from them. Next thing, I receive a letter from a debt collection agency demanding £170 or I risk being taken to court. I contacted Premier Parking via British Parking to query what was happening. Turns out that Premier Parking had emailed me offering a reduction in the charge to £20 payable within a particular timeframe. The email was in my junk folder and so the time frame for payment has been missed. Premier Park inform that the issue is now between me and the debt collection agency. I'm so irritated by all this, dealing with a lot of personal stress and £170 is more than I can afford. I am tempted to now just ignore the debt collection threats. Is it probable that the debt collection agency will pursue this via court, essentially for a keying error?

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.Booloo1977 said:Is it probable that the debt collection agency will pursue this via court, essentially for a keying error?3 -

Exactly the same as the thread by @Top_DrawerPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi there. I was hoping I wouldn't be commenting in this thread again but earlier this week I received a text message from a solicitors firm called Gladstone's, followed by a Letter of Claim from Gladstone's today stating that I need to pay £170 or risk being taken to court and, possibly, a CCJ. Given that I paid for the parking in the first place, have found my parking receipt which evidences that there was a mis-type on entering my vehicle details, would it be unwise to ignore this... is this likely to stand up in court and/or result in a CCJ..?0

You now need to be following the guidance in the second post of the NEWBIES thread.
The first few paragraphs there explain exactly how to react upon receipt of a Letter of Claim.1 -
Ok so I seem to have misunderstood , from this thread it looks like not receiving the PCN is irrelevant and my letters to them have just ended up with being sent to debt recovery .. that means there is no right of appeal for everyone0

If you, or your daughter, fails to keep their Vehicle Registration Document up to date, it's difficult to see that that is anyone else's fault. By the way, there is a potential £1000 fine - a real fine - for that.
@fedupwithparkingfines, why not start a new thread as I suggested following your earlier post?1
