Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark and very frosty start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Lunch yesterday was roast chicken and chips or chicken and salad, enjoyed as something different to traditional roast. Tonight will be breaded chicken portions.
Back to work after a few days off, had to use up some holiday or lose it at the end of the year. Don't know what I'll be walking back into so we'll see!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all. Still icy out there this morning, Will be nice when I don't have to scrape the car first thing in the morning in the dark! Off to work soon. One of my colleagues is on holiday for the next couple of weeks so no one to have a banter and a moan with as we both have the same quirky sense of humour. Have a good day everyone and look after yourselves.

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, good to see you back.
Busy weekend, the little one kept me entertained, her Mummy and Daddy had been out spending a restaurant voucher I got them for christmas and really enjoyed the meal. They were all here for lunch yesterday, throroughly enjoyed by all.
Once they went and I had tidied up a bit I sat catching up with Happy Valley, all filmed where we used to visit to see close friends and where my Dad was from. Only a couple more episodes to catch up on - I have seen the first two series but had forgotten a lot of it.
Work again today, lots to do and hoping it's a better week than the last.
Hope your DS is comfortable at home Topsy, shocking treatment.
Rosy - we have grit bins at the bottom of the road, it's worth half an hour of hard work!
Glad you're feeling better snoozer.
I've been using the plant based butter blocks Floss, can't actually taste the difference in anything and at the moment it's much cheaper than real butter.
Hope you enjoyed your family lunch Izzy.
Well done on the weight loss Coxy!
Hope that cough has subsided TA.
The shower is calling so I had better get on. Happy Monday, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. You had us all worried when you disappeared without warning! I think yesterday must have been marginally milder (though not so you would notice!) as the snow has almost gone now. Just odd patches here and there. Till the next time!!
I'm up and at 'em early as I have an Ocado delivery booked 8 - 9. An email tells me once again no subs or oos. I really can't praise them high enough. After my lapse last week there are no freezer items on my order, other than bags of berries as I go through them at lightening speed.
The cough is still clinging on and I have been woken up numerous times through the night with it. Grr. I seem to have spent most of January coughing. I sound like someone who has smoked 40 Woodbines a day for 50 years!
I had a nice surprise yesterday when eldest DGD asked if I would be in today as she has been home from Uni this w/e and wanted to pop in for a natter before heading back. Other than that not much planned, though there should be! I am spending too much time in sloth mode this cold weather.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering or fed up. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.Joy - we have a temperature in plus figures this morning. I have to keep reminding myself that it's still January so the weather is bound to be miserable. 🙁 Today we've been 'promised' a gloomy dank day. 😅
Yesterday was as slothful as I anticipated. The DW was emptied and lunch cooked, then I was drawn to watch some TV. There was a couple of Miss Marple films on which engrossed me, mainly because they were so many well known actors in their much more youthful days.I was woken early this morning by a text from my youngest nephew (QLD) thanking me for the four wee hoodies I sent out for his children. My worry had been that the parcel has been caught up in the Royal Mail ransomware problem but I must have got in just in time.Today I have a blood pressure check, my weekly wrestle with the banking spreadsheets and a couple of phone calls to make. No painting, wallpapering or any other domestic heavy work. For now my thoughts are with our poorlies and missing. Lovely to see Ruby posting and all the new posters too.Happy Monday to all.10 -

We went for dinner for DH birthday at the local pub with all the family which was nice DD1 and her BF have found a house so they are putting an offer in today other than that its just been a nice family weekend .

Good morning, thanks for the start NMLC, glad to see you back, I was wondering if you were poorly. Hope work goes ok.It's not so cold this morning. It's nice to see all of our new posters, stay with us folks, it's nice and friendly on here.Topsy, complain to the hospital about the difficulties you had when your son was being discharged, as someone else suggested, contact PALS. Hope he feels a bit better now he's home. The landing and hall ceiling were painted, so that's a start. We'll start the walls today, though will stop in the late afternoon as Dgs is coming after school for tea. I think painting is better done in daylight anyway.I've got to go out this morning to meet someone from the Book Club to pass on a book, but we're just meeting at a cafe on our high street, I won't be out long.Thoughts to our poorly people, and hoping everyone has a good day.Take care folks.12

Morning all. Very enjoyable lunch out at family members yesterday. The beach at Margate was quite busy for a January day.
booked to see ‘ a man called Otto’ on Wednesday afternoon at our local independent cinema.
first of the freezer clear outs for dinner tonight, not sure what yet, I might be reminded of Liz Smith character in an early Vicar of Dibley with the combinations........
keep safe and warm allCarolbee12 -
Morning everyone I’m off to meet my friend for a cuppa and a catch up soon then hubby has said he will run me into the nearest big town I want a picture frame and a look around he will sit in the car and be on pins to be back but I take no notice. Freezing cold here but it isn’t frosty but it’s so dark I’m like you Gers I have to keep reminding myself it’s winter.
