I've just signed up for a free dosing ball from Aerialfrugalmacdugal said:Hi,don't bother trying to get one, I would reckon just use the lid from your detergent bottle.
If it's decent enough, I'm going to switch over to liquid from powder (Given they're about about the same price)
You can refill the "TwinDos" thingies which is quite usefulHi,good for you, should do the job.

When I'm using liquid, it will be Ecover, which is quite thick and gloopy. I can pour the liquid into the dispenser draw and shut it before the liquid has even reached the bottom of the draw. That works fine for my washes.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
We use liquid from Aldi. We just pour it into the main wash section in the drawer, and it works fine.
The only issue would be if you wanted to leave theachine on a delay timer e.g. to run overnight on Economy 7. If you didn't run the wash right away, the liquid would probably find its way down to the drum, which could cause issues.1 -
I guess that's when you use the dosing ball instead?casper_gutman said:We use liquid from Aldi. We just pour it into the main wash section in the drawer, and it works fine.

Is there a reason you aren't using the Twin Dos? I have a Miele and when I stopped using the free detergent I put my own in. You can then set the machine to dispense whatever levels you want from your own detergent and fabric conditioner.waqasahmed said:

When using your machine you tell it to use the Twin Dos from one or both sides, it knows which is which and dispenses when it is needed.
All I do is top the Twin Dos up with my detergent/conditioner when the machine tells me they are empty.0 -
The issue I had with the dosing ball, which might be particular to my machine, is that the drum rotates and the machine drains before the washing cycle starts. So I could envisage a scenario where all the liquid gets emptied out of the dosing ball and pumped out of the machine before the washing even starts! Where I want to use a delayed start, I revert back to powder or capsules instead.waqasahmed said:

They didn't include the refillable twindos thingies
I've also got a shed load of washing powder, so I mostly want to experiment before committing to liquid
I also don't necessarily know how well the liquid performs. If liquids are on parity with washing powder in price (which they do appear to be), and perform just as well, I'll switch over once my washing powder runs out
