thanks my control is programmable (with 6 ‘slots’ per 24 hour period and each day programmable so eg weekends have different timings). It also has quick settings for when we go away etc
i think this ok for our needs and both installers agreed
I don’t understand how going to a Worcester Bosch controller will save even more money
we don’t need any smart features - our washing machine and dishwasher are smart but I’ve still not figured out why. We still have to empty them !!Left is never right but I always am.1 -

Plus as an additional benefit it will be warrantied for up to 12 years, will your CM927 last that long (Google CM927 LCD failure)?1 -
I find it surprising - disappointing, even - that neither GS was keen to push the best controls. With energy prices so high, every % will make a difference.0

If you can get Worcester Bosch to offer the easy control as a free or cheap upgrade, it’s well worth it. It modulates the boiler so well. Even in the current cold spell, the new boiler is rarely running above 60c to keep the house at 21. I can see in the app that the boiler is constantly adjusting it’s flow temp to hold the temperature steady. Your honewell stat will only turn the boiler on/off which is wasting the modulation features. There’s also the geofencing feature which detects when you leave home and turns the heating off automatically.1

Hi spoke with 2 fitters this morning (including the one who quoted originally) - neither would recommend the Bosch easy control as it requires removing and replacing 2 external diverter valves for the megaflo
apparently Bosch smart is fine for a standard combi but isn’t the best when you have a system boiler like mine
if I want smart they would recommend a hive control that would do the modulation etc but not require the diverter valve changes
comments and thoughts to the contrary appreciate

I want to know what the wine and rocking chair settings do.
Sorry to bring the tone down briefly but curiosity is eating away at me.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I was curious about them too, looking it up the wine glass is for party mode, cannot find what rocking chair is for but wonder if it is for next day and a recovery period.
Who knew heating controls had such sophistication.1 -

thanksHive is nicer to use, proper 'programmable', but won't make full benefit of your new boiler. So I'd still be very inclined to go full WB.I don't understand the issue with the 2 valves - can't see any reason why they would need replacing. Any chance of a photo of where these are?0 -
i had to google to be honest:
briefcase is 'holiday' setting - you specify a return date and the thermo sets to 10deg for the whoel time
rocking chair is 'day off' setting - it defaults to your sunday temps and timings for the day on which it is pressed (say you were unexpectedly at home on a random thursday)
wine glass is 'party' setting where it continues heating later into the evening /night than you would normally have it set
bit gimmicky if i am honest 0 when we go on hols we put to manual and set a low temp
when we have a party (never) or day off (missus always at home) we just leave it as isLeft is never right but I always am.1
