Have a look a BOXT for an online quote. Personally wouldn't go with BG and never had experience of Eon.
I had a very, very poor experience with Boxt. I would not recommend them.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I was the complete opposite, I had an excellent experience with Boxt and would highly recommend them.

I even took out their service plan which I later cancelled and received a full refund of money paid - no quibbles.

Thank you, BUFF and Rob - that deal would seem a no-brainer, then.
I guess local GasSafes have to trade off the (hopefully) slightly reduced earnings on each job against a hopefully steady source of work?

FYI quote appointment booked with worcester bosch via their expedited install service - local(ish) company coming to quote soon

I'll feedback how it all lands in case of interest to others

Points regards asking about controls etc. well noted - i'll ask about this. We currently have thermostatic valves on most of the rads, with normal screw taps on towel rails. I've spent an age tweaking everything so house is heated how we like it so hopefullu nothing buggers that up

Hopefully won;t be replacing any radiators as quite a few of them are new(ish) due to recent extension - 2 of them are the curved type that site under bay windows which i guess aint the cheapest!

Did you use the fasttrack service? They should give you the quote online and you send them some photos of your current setup. If you choose their other option, you’ll be getting the installers price rather than the price WB offer.

My install is happening tomorrow so i’ll report back on how it goes
  • thanks - i did the fast track thing but when i went through the options it said i need a home visit (i think because I have a system boiler and a megaflo its not as straight forward as your standard combi swap out)

Installer came this morning, quote due soon so will update

My Worcester Bosch fasttrack install went ahead yesterday. New boiler fitted within 4 hours and everything working well. More than happy with the service from Worcester - less than a week from initial contact to installation and the lowest quote I had.

4 hours? How did they flush it adequately in that time?

Why did one quote a 30kW boiler and the other a 24kW? Did they actually both do the maths?
