I have downloaded plum and it seems really simple to use, I want to spread some investments between a few stocks and I’m unsure of the best platform to use.Any device would be appreciated, especially any experienced stock recommendations. How will you use the investment apps ? Do you want to invest regularly or just one off payment, etc ??Difficult to say but if you aim to invest regularly in majority of cases you will be better off, with near zero fee platforms especially those who do not charge you for share dealing fees. Example of that is Trading 212, free trade. There is also invest-engine with No buying and selling fees for hundreds of ETFs. There is also Wealthy if you want a robot to invest for you.Trading 212 is currently offering £100 value of investment for referral. Here is the starting point, comparison table to help people making decision. It is not just apps based but app base investment are also included in the comparison table.1 -
Can anyone recommend a good app to use for investments? Are you more interested in the quality of the App or the quality of the investments?

I have DD setup on my account for monthly investment and no need for much else. It's an odd mindset. Most people with considerably more in pensions ignore them, certainly the constituents. Some might look at the annual report but most will go straight to the not terribly useful projection at the backTo be fair it's probably a better course of action than checking on the train or while having tea. Too much inspection leads to meddlingMy main investments are held directly with Vanguard, I have an account with HL holding Berkshire B and Shell shares but don’t use HL for purchases anymore. I check both of these accounts about once per month.
I use trading 212 for my regular trades but this is more my fun account for regular buying and selling. No more than 5k ever held in trading 212.1 -
I was going to use an app as I am fairly new to investments, and I’m not confident using a platformJust a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0

Purely based on app, Im hardly someone to have checked all investing apps but my personal experience so far would put Wealthify as best in terms of how sleek and easy to navigate is. The AJ Bell one is not bad either while InvestEngine is quite a bit lower than the others but feels like they are slowly improving it (IE would be my top if I take fees into account but thats beside the topic). I also use Vanguard which dont even offer an app but accessing their site on mobile has been ok.I also heard good stuff about HL in terms of their app but havent been able to confirm yet.Having said all that, I wouldnt put much importance to the app itself. A number of other factors should come higher when choosing a platform.0

If investing into an ISA it's not completely trivial to "try and see how you get on" as you would either have to wait till next tax year, or transfer the balance, before trying a different one.0
