Speaking of eggs, if you have some and you don't know which are hard boiled and which are fresh, there is a simple way to find it, obviously without breaking them. Stand it on its fat end and spin it round. If it stands up, it's hard boiled. If it falls over, it's fresh. Simple! (I bet you go and try it now). Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!10

we have a family secret santa for the adults, with a £100 allocated amount. This is a group of 17 adults. Recipients are invited to suggest what we would like. Some request the cash but others suggest gifts. @RobM99 I've done the egg thing before. And also the one to check for a rotten egg. We had a stinky big catering box of eggs at work and wanted to ensure we only got rid of the rotten one(s). 3 women sorted them by 1 taking some out and putting in a sink full of cool water, 1 taking out the ones that sank handing them to the 3rd who dried them off and put them back in the box. Floating ones were carefully binned so as not to break them.
And as for the guitar leads.....makes sense! Not being electrified in anything musical it's not a problem that has ever occurred to me!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @RobM99, I've done a similar thing with the eggs, but I spun them on their side, tried to quickly stop them by putting a finger on then taking it off. If it's fresh, it will keep spinning, as the liquid inside takes longer to slow down.2025 Fashion on the ration

Me, I tried the egg thing and it works
The floating/sinking eggs to find any old ones works too.
I've not tried the guitar lead one cos my guitar doesn't have a lead. It's a cigar box guitar that I built myself, and I love it's simplicityI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6
