Most of my best tricks I learned from OSers already, so thank you to you all!
I keep two matching cheap washing-up bowls nested together in my under-sink cupboard. I used to only have one, that I would stand all the cleaning bottles in, but then occasionally I'd need to use it and have to take all the bottles out.
By having two, I just lift out the top one with the bottles, and the other is ready to go. Less faff and hardly any noticeable effect on storage space.***Mortgage Free Oct 2018 - Debt Free again (after detour) June 2022***

Aye I agree Brambleberry. I learned most of my tips on here. You never know what people know though 😊Michael J Fox's middle name is Andrew.4

I cut pizza with scissors.
I also trim beans and cut cabbage stalks out using scissors.
If making loads of sandwiches, use an electric knife to cut into neat triangles or cut crusts off in big batches.15 -

Keeps the duvet from sliding aorund inside and leaving you with a few inches of just divert cover at the top and a lump of duvet in the bottom.I used to do the jelly roll but now I just put it on inside out and nappy pin the edges, it's much easier to shiggle it down.
the other option i know of is to sew buttons or toggles on the corners of your duvets and loops on the inside of your covers. thats what the mil does. but i find the buttons to fiddly with my bad hands (arthritis) and ive been stuck with forgotten pins in things to often to be happy using the safety pin methodAlmost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.6 -
Got a dog or cat and carpeted stairs?Leave the vacuum where it is, and use their slicker brush whilst sitting on the stairs, working top to bottom - carpet looks like newFed up of cat/dog hair being left behind after vacuuming carpet? Put on your trainers or walking shoes and shuffle backwards, up and down ( even after using the Miele I find hair )6

Sorry what's a slicker brush? I'm overwhelmed by cat hair 🙄Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Whatever bed size you have, get duvets the next size up. No idea what you do if you have a superking bed though...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...8 -

Surely the surface area of sheets is the same no matter how you hang them out?1

I have a rubber long handled brush which is very good for getting dog hairs off the stair carpet and rugs. It’s not this one, but this sort of style. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
