Buying a new Android phone

Samsung user for years but as mentioned the bloatware and pushing the user to register the phone with them also is
getting to be a chore now.
Seriously considering other brands when I need a new phone. Important questions before buying... How much bloatware and
does it want me to register for the manufacturers store, can you skip that and is it hidden like Samsung?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Samsung is even worse for crapware and horrible interfaces.
What parts do you think are consumable items on a phone other than a screen or battery? Those can be easily sourced for most mainstream phones these days.
I've been on the OP1, OP2, OP3, OP5T.
I ended up damaging the onboard when opening the back cover to replace the battery so I fancy a change now.
I've never been keen on Samsung, I just can't seem to bring myself to use one or spend more than 5mins on one.
The OPPO X5 Lite 256GB priced at £250 looks like a good deal.

Got mine for £200, just pay in full.
Think it involves a credit check though.
Cracking phone for the price.0 -
I buy Samsung as I like Samsung Pay and Secure Folder but that's just me.0

OPPO X5 Lite is pretty underpowered with a mediocre display and nothing that really stands out. Very slow to get Android updates as well. It's another one with ColorOS that has so much bloatware installed, but at least you can spend time and turn much of it off. Personally, even at that price I wouldn't.
I would look more at the Google Pixel 6a and if you can wait until mid 2023 it will be cheaper as the 7a is released. OnePlus Nord 2 would also be a better option.
Motorola's (owned by Lenovo now that Google sold them) isn't a bad range, but do watch out for the cheaper ones which still run a 32bit OS on a 64bit processor as Android will be dropping 32bit versions of both possibly as soon as later this year.0 -
Owed Samsungs, Motos and Redmi phones in that order, was very happy with the Redmi phones and my OH still has one. When I saw a Pixel 6a for £300 last years was too good to miss and very happy now Ive got used to it.

If you want cheap I'd go for a pixel 6a 5 years of surecirty updates and 3nyears of os updates but maybe wait till pixel 7a comes out as the other would drop0
