Buying a new Android phone
Hello,
I'm looking to purchase a new Android phone, I've been on OnePlus for several years now, so fancy a change.
Alot of people have said to go with Samsung and one of the reasons why is if you ever need to replace the parts they can be easily sourced.
Which Android phone do you have?
Thanks
Javed

Moved from OnePlus back to the Google Pixel phones when OnePlus started putting bloatware back into the phones, overly customising the interface and started charging as much as Samsung.
Samsung is even worse for crapware and horrible interfaces.
What parts do you think are consumable items on a phone other than a screen or battery? Those can be easily sourced for most mainstream phones these days.2 -

I've been on the OP1, OP2, OP3, OP5T.
I ended up damaging the onboard when opening the back cover to replace the battery so I fancy a change now.
I've never been keen on Samsung, I just can't seem to bring myself to use one or spend more than 5mins on one.
The OPPO X5 Lite 256GB priced at £250 looks like a good deal.Save £12k in 2019 #154 - £14,826.60/£12kSave £12k in 2020 #128 - £4,155.62/£10k0 -
If you are willing to take the price hit then there is a mobile phone that takes repairability and ethical, sustainable sourcing seriously. Decent mid-range spec too.

Never heard of them before, it looks good. But I think for the price you can get something a little better specs wise.

We have Motorola, they're fine if you don't mind Chinese and they're cheaper than Samsung. I'm toying with Google Pixel next though.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I've been using Xiaomi for a few years now, and my OH on their more budget Redmi brand - haven't felt the need to look elsewhere at the moment0

My last few phones have all been Motorola. I’ve always been impressed with their phones but was thinking of going to another make this time just for a change. However when looking at phones in my budget (£300) the Motorola G82 seemed best vfm, managed to get it in a deal for £250 as well. I liked the idea of a Google Pixel but they’re expensive for what I need.0

My wife and I have been on Moto G series phones for the last few iterations. Like them a lot and no plans to move away.
I had Samsung before, it was slightly better, but not enough for the massive price difference.2 -
another vote for Moto, we've had them for around ten years - presently mine's a G31 bought last year and my wife has a G9 bought a couple of years ago, both costing a fair bit less than £200 and, if las good as our previous Moto's we'll keep them for around 5-6 years before we think about replacing them.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
