    Also on the 1p Lebara deal which ends the middle of Feb. I also have the 1p Lyca deal which I activated a few days after Lebara. I'm going to port from Lebara to existing Lyca, then back to my new Lebara 5p deal. I've also got a new Lyca sim on their 5p deal which I'll activate a week or so after finishing the double port process.
    Love the fact I'll have another six months @ only 10p per month.
    I did use Asda Mobile the last time I double ported from / to Lebara, but yes; I've read the comments on Hotukdeals by people reporting that Asda are frequently asking for a top up, before issuing your PAC to go back to Lebara.

    Thanks, I looked up hotukdeals asda pac and found a post where someone said asda had retained their number after they had moved it to and from them a number of times. I am not sure how ofcom would see that as asda were happy to accept the number back but then held it to ransom.
    So maybe use different networks to tri-port each time, after two years or so go round again?

    In what way is Asda Mobile no longer an option? Can't find it now but I think someone on here did a triangular port via Asda, without topping up, using a free SIM, last year. Relies on their SIMS being activated by insertion into a phone rather than a top-up payment to an account.

    Got half-way down this road myself but bottled it and topped up a fiver - fear of losing a 20-y-o number got the better of me.
    Looking on various recent forum posts it looks like a minimum £5 top-up is required.
    Like yourself I'm a bit wary of the process but the savings to be had are very tempting. I can get a Three 30gb sim for £5.52 a year so I would like to be confident of the double port process. How was your experience and who were you porting back to?

    Thanks
    Can you provide details of the Three deal, £5.52 a year seems very low, or do you mean £5.52 a month, for a year?
    Yes sorry meant £5.52 a month not sure what happened there.

    Cheers

    So to get back to op's question, you could try a free sim from these providers;

    Although iirc giffgaff will not accept a port in until you have topped up. Not sure about the others, but Vodafone o2 tesco. and not on the list nowmobile (although I never got past the email verification) or Rwg. So you don't need to use asda every time.
