Double Porting Current Options?

Hi
I'm on the 1p Lebara deal for a couple of sims from August and was trying to look into possibly double porting onto any new deals they have over the next couple of months. I see that Asda Mobile (PayG sim) are maybe no longer an option. Lyca have a £1 sim. Any other options?

In what way is Asda Mobile no longer an option? Can't find it now but I think someone on here did a triangular port via Asda, without topping up, using a free SIM, last year. Relies on their SIMS being activated by insertion into a phone rather than a top-up payment to an account.
Got half-way down this road myself but bottled it and topped up a fiver - fear of losing a 20-y-o number got the better of me.1 -

Like yourself I'm a bit wary of the process but the savings to be had are very tempting. I can get a Three 30gb sim for £5.52 a year so I would like to be confident of the double port process. How was your experience and who were you porting back to?

The 3 SIM is their standard deal through Top cashback. I've had three so far and they have all paid out even though we know it's not guaranteed.

Asdamobile will still send you a sim with a number without topping up. You can then use your online account to port in and out.1

Just ordered a free sim without topping up. Last time I did that they sent a sim ready to use without a topup.We’ve received your SIM order and will let you know once it's been dispatched.Just to confirm, we’ll be sending your SIM to:Looks like porting in can be done by calling free from that sim or another phone, or online;Give us your PAC or STAC codeOnce you've got your PAC code, you can transfer your number using My Account. Alternatively, call us from your new SIM on 2732 (from the UK) or 0808 006 2732 from any other phone (free of charge).If you submit the transfer request before 5.00pm Monday to Friday, your number will be transferred the next working day.1

"Insisting on a topup" when?Will see if the sim they send has a live number, so it can receive calls and texts without paying to activate it. But the one I got from them last week did and I was able to text for a pac with no credit yesterday.I don't know what hotdeals means, I just went direct to asdamobile.Interestingly nowmobile offer port-in as an option with a free sim, although I wouldn't want to port my number to a sim which I didn't physically have yet.And a free mobile data sweetener;Nothing about topping up.1

When you try to port back out.

@savergrant I'm getting a little confused now.
Were you able to port a number to an Asda SIM and then port it away to another operator's SIM without making any payment to Asda Mobile?0
