Help with returns

Hi, I need some help and advice please. I brought a telescope from Currys for my son for Christmas. It was faulty so we returned it. Currys arranged for it to be collected from my sons home and we received tracking to say they had received it. My husband did an online chat with them to see what was going on and when we could expect a refund. The gentleman he spoke to said that they had received the telescope and would loom to process the return and refund within the next couple of days. This morning we were informed that infact they had received the return yet and that there was nothing they could do to help us further. We explained that we had the tracking to say they had received it but they kept repeat6tgat there wasn't much else they could do apart from speak to the back office. Surely this isn't right! We have proof that they've received the parcel!I'm fuming! Currys put the phone down on my husband. Help!

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/consumer-rights Would be the correct category for your complaint. Pity that the Christmas present was faulty. Is there specific advice that you need? From what you’ve described, it doesn’t sound right, no. I think you need to persevere with Currys customer relations though as you’re not at the stage where a small claims is appropriate yet. You need to do as much to get resolution from the retailer before you go to court. Have a read of the ‘Sticky’ threads in the Consumer Rights board for relevant similar cases.
