Pets at home do a repeat delivery service with discounts too - I use them, zooplus and amazon for different things depending on who's cheapest.
They do. I tend to find them more expensive than some of the alternatives though, even with the discounts. But maybe that's just the specific things I buy.

Like most others we have remained the same for our mutt.  She has allergies so we have to be careful with food and her health is paramount for us

I generally buy Harringtons dry food and wet food (although brought some forthglade wet food). I always wait for it to be on offer rather than pay full price. So far I have been lucky and whenever I need it, its been on offer and I stock up.

We remained the same. Fortunately the wet food we give them is on the cheaper end of the scale (they don't like the more expensive stuff).
Our youngest was tiny when he arrived after being fed the cheapest possible food (abandoned with previous owner's mates when they moved). He has grown in size despite being about 2 when he arrived.
We don't have children and would sooner cut back on luxuries to ensure our cats are healthy.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

Our late cat was diagnosed with kidney problems when she was 18.  The specialist food was expensive and there wasn’t a massive difference in price between the sellers.  It was all online, no one sold it a shop and ordering it from the vet would have been dearer.  I did what others have suggested, I cut back on spending for me.  She thrived on the specialist food and her last 2 years were happy ones.
Same here, elderly cat with renal problems that requires a special diet that can’t be bought in any supermarket or pet shop so it’s on-line for us as well. We shop around but generally use one of two sites and buy in bulk, perhaps 80 sachets at a time
  • I’ve just switched my elderly dog over to a grain free diet on the vets advice, it is more expensive but the difference in him is already noted, I’ve stocked up since the biscuits and food is on offer. I intend to cancel my NOW TV subscription to fund the additional cost.

... I didn't know there was a pets board  :( Cat food is a constant problem, buy something new ... loves it ... buy loads ... hates it ... back to the fish.
    Absolutely!

We have 4 cats and 2 dogs - whatever they love this week they will probably hate next week (mainly the cats, dogs are easier).
I try to mix up what they have, cat food sachets one day, sardines another day, coley is a perennial favourite.....
  • It's ridiculous, cat food has gone up from £4.25 to £5 in Tesco over the past few months. As they are cats I have to get specific food as they are well fussy. I do find good deals at pets at home.
  • Amazon subscribe and save for the dog food.
Our two 18 year old cats died in the last year which has helped the pet food budget. The dog is finishing their dried food with hers, nothing new there.

We are measuring the amount of dog food we give her, recording that she has been fed so she cannot get away with fibs, and she is no longer overweight.
She gets the occasional cracked egg, bacon rinds, chicken skin, the rinsings of milk bottles and sardine cans, the scrapings of dinner plates, a bit of the vegetable water, etc. to add to her diet. She is very good at licking cream and yoghurt pots ready for recycling.

SIL buys posh cat food from the vet which contains sugar.
    The cat now has diabetes.
SIL now pays for blood tests, in patient care, medication, and even more expensive cat food from the vets, which also contains sugar.
Someone is on to a winner.
