I so wish you'd come here for advice at LBC stage. It would have been dead & buried by carefully timed responses and words.
But you are at claim stage and must defend.
There is no 'putting it on hold' for you now.
An address I've not lived at for several years.
I'm not sure what I have or haven't received recently, if anything, prior to this claim form.
I know at this stage I'm in for the long game and won't be putting anything off.
I'm at the mercy of this good forum and your kind advice.
So I realise now I should've be reading in the newbies section from where it says 'if you get a court claim'.
My next move is to register my Acknowledgment of service, is that right?
And then I have to: 'Send your defence to the CCBCAQ'
If anyone could explain the 'CCBCAQ' part that would be really helpful.
This is separate to the MCOL/Acknowledgement site right?
Thanks again,
Yours, fighting on : )

In that same reply you were directed towards the second post of the NEWBIES thread and have clearly found that.
In turn, that post in the NEWBIES thread offers guidance on what to do next. Not far after the words - So, where to start dealing with your claim? - there is a link to the template defence thread.
Carry on reading.1 -
If that is the only address the claimant has, you need to send a Data Rectification Notice by e-mail to the DPO of the PPC informing them of your correct address for service, requiring them to erase your old data and to inform all and any of their agents and sub-contractors.1

Hi All,
Sorry to come with lots of questions again...
I'm putting together my defence at the moment.
Hope to finish and email the letter tomorrow.
With the mail strikes and the idea of receiving a confirmation, email seems like the best option.
Would you mind reviewing my defence and let me know if it's too long winded?
I'll attach a screen shot. I'll also attach a photo of how my van broke down over the car park lines.
A photo that UK Parking Control Ltd sent me.
I've read differing opinions on how detailed the defence should be so I'm a bit confused.
Should I just keep it to a sentence and elaborate in the witness statement later?
Any suggestions welcome.
Should I attach a PDF to the email of the letter or just write the defence in the email body?
Or both?
I have a witness...
My father-in-law is a mechanic who has worked on my vans for many years. He would be happy to be a witness as to the issues the van was facing at that time, him being the one who finally properly repaired the mentioned issues.
Should I involve him as a witness? At what stage do I mentioned this? Is there an option in the witness statement?
I have a scenario running round my head where the judge asks me why I ignored the initial ticket.
The truth is that it looked fake, poorly printed and asking for £100.
If it was genuine, from what I'd previously read, the private parking companies had no power and one should steer clear of contacting them. Yet here we are.
I wouldn't know what to say should this question come up.
One thing in my favour is that they have admitted in email that they have an old address for me on file.
I've lived at four other addresses since the address on file.
Sorry for the big post.
Thanks again.

That Defence you have shown us looks nothing like the template Defence it was suggested you use.
Please read again my reply to you on this thread on 11 January at 7:30PM.1 -

I don't understand. I thought it was exactly as described in the link. Could you elaborate?0 -

In that same 11th January post I went on to suggest that you look in the second post of the NEWBIES thread for the words - So, where to start dealing with your claim?.
If you did that, you would've seen this...Can you see the words READ THIS TEMPLATE DEFENCE AND EDIT IT TO SUIT?

Ok,
Thanks KeithP,
I'm in the right place.

Ok,
Which of these works better pre witness statement:

First one is better but I don't like the word vicissitude in this context; sound like you are trying too hard to use a legalese word only ever seen in a court judgment!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
