Nicely done. The only change I'd suggest is to say in 2 whether you were driving or not.

So perfect is that, I'm going to start signposting people to it for DCBLegal case defences as you have wording that supersedes the version by Johny86.

You will get lots of notifications each time you are mentioned...sorry!!
High praise indeed @preloved1416, you should be very pleased with your hard work.

    Statement of Truth

I believe that the facts stated in this defence are true.  I understand that proceedings for contempt of court may be brought against anyone who makes, or causes to be made, a false statement in a document verified by a statement of truth without an honest belief in its truth.

    Defendant’s signature:

    Date:

Should I include this at the bottom of my WS?

    and this at the top?

    IN THE COUNTY COURT

    Claim No.:  xxxxxx

    Between

    UK Parking Control Limited

    (Claimant)

    - and -

    XXX

     (Defendant)

Yes but with the words 'witness statement' instead of 'defence' in that WS Statement of truth.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

One last question, the claimant included images of my car in their WS to support this claim. Could these be brought into question?

Not UKPC.  Not the local court.

And if this is your application you just send the bundle to the fees email at the CCBC then phone them and pay your N244 application fee.

To be clear to people looking at this thread, this is a specific CCJ set aside case.  Hence the fee.  Normal defences do not involve a fee.

You might be able to claim the £275 back from the Royal Mail, hopefully?  You have a complaint in so continue to push that and prove your loss.

I would have thought you would send it to your local court then, but I could be wrong?

I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable to clarify.

I called the local court to confirm if they needed a copy and they asked me to send it to them and DCB.
