I hope they work it all out

Just checked, oct 2007! 16 years, wow I didn't realise. Its hard decisions these days. Vets can do so many more tests but it certainly isn't cheap. Its a balancing act - desire of owners to keep the pet going, is it fair on animal, cost obviously, what would be the outcome of knowing a result, what if it's inconclusive etc etc. Its not that long ago that you just wouldn't be faced with the dilemma, vets didn't have all this technology at their fingertips.
Need to submit my meter reading to Octo*** I also need to call the vets to book my two in for their injections. I am really glad it is Friday this week has flown past as I have been so busy with work but if I get some stuff out of the way this morning I can actually crack on with the course as it starts again on Monday and I want to be up to date by then. It is 1 video a day and I have done 1 1/2 since it started when I should be on 14. At least I have cracked how it works now with the journalling bit. That has helped.
There is a new favorite Danish house it is £375K which is just slightly above what I wanted to spend but it is so new it would not need anything doing to it apart from plants in the garden. My sister suggested this area and this is the second one to come up so hopefully when we need to move this type will come up again as it is everything and more we could want. It even has a walk in larder in the kitchen - my dream!. No need to build your own house when you can have this type of thing.
Meeting with my outgoing manager later last one and then she will be off for 6 weeks and I get a new one. Happy days in a way start of something new.

Done Octo meter reading and done their spins. Also done a bit of a mini money shuffle as some money were still sat in HSBC but that just had to go in it did not have to stay there to get the bonus. I still need to use my card a few more times and I have now got my Global card so again that needs using.
So that means I now have £2000 saved on top of my regular saver and the money that goes into Premium Bonds so as long as I can find an extra £400 next month I will have met by goal of saving £12K this year.
I did not think I would be able to do it as DG has not been earning much and I have been paying for her counselling. December is expensive but the joint fund owes me £500 so that will help quite a bit.

Thats another nice one. I love how they've gone to the bother of beautifully straightening the chairs round the table but all the beds look like someone's just got up (I suspect there's lots of teenage boys so maybe that did actually happen lol)
I think I probably saw your name from mfi3 as I think i was on one of them for a few years, then caught up with most of your diaries since then cheering you on from the background with some comments if I ever had anything I thought might be helpful22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Sorry to hear about the maine coon, not sure if he is in cat heaven now but I am sure its a fabulous place where my cats are now hanging out near a radiator. I was devastated when I lost my two - old age basically the one at nearly 18 but the one I spent £2k+ on surgery for a lump and chemo at 17 yrs and he didnt last long after that ...
I am glad I did it - the £2k costs - but I am not sure I would do it again...
well done on the savings
That house is fabulous - so minimalist - I'd need to declutter a lot!!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LaPlan and SavingsHolmes he is still with us but I do like the idea of him curled up near a radiator with other cats. It is hard to know when to extend the life and when not to. Obviously it is down to my friend now but he sounded like he was positive that the antibiotics and steroids were working. I do feel slightly guilty that I cancelled the pet insurance but it was so expensive as he is 14 and he has never claimed on it the whole time he has had him.
Yes that house is very minimalist and why they did not make the beds are beyond me but I am guessing the teenagers were due to do it. The estate agent was most likely a young bloke who was not going to do it for them before the photos.
Weekend was nice cancelled the golf game Saturday in the end only 4 people went out it good for them is all I can say. We did get to play Sunday but as per usual DG had a meltdown nearly broke her driver but she did play the last so not complete meltdown.
Stocked up on more Danish goodies from Lidl it is only the second time they have done that and to think I nearly missed it. Not good for the diet but lovely to have proper hot dog sausages and marzipan cakes. Also got a cinnamon bun kit but I am going to try and freeze them before they are cooked so I do not eat more than a couple in one go.
Did not go anywhere else or spend money on eating out so that was good. Did nip into local village and they have a haberdashery that was amazing. I have not been for ages but has new owners and my god it was fab. Had all the stuff I had recently bought on Amazon only a couple of pence more in there so worth supporting your local shop. I got some cotton for my overlocker and my sisters tablecloth and napkins are now almost done. It works so well having that pull down cupboard for sewing I am glad I upcycled it. Spend £11 so not bad for the cotton and a needle thingy.
Still got about £100 left in my second current account so hopeful about getting to the £12K in 2023. I get paid Thursday and there is £86 left in my Monzo account plus I have £111 in the new HS&C account. I now need to spend 5 times on the Global card in order to get the second bonus. I have not had my first one yet but hopefully soon.
Also finally got my Airtime reward set up. I did make a purchase but I used ApplyPay so it did not register I need to make sure I use my cards obviously. I referred DG and they have a £5 each weekend so that was handy if she buys something in the next few days.
I also need to reply to the lights saga they will not refund as it is over 3 months ago since I bought the lights. They will replace so at least I would have new lights for Christmas they might last 2 weeks in December. Not happy but not sure I can argue as now it says on their site you have to return within 3 months but I am sure it did not when I bought them.
Right busy day workwise, gym at 9am but only doing 1 class as I have a meeting. My course is up to date (almost) but the main session is 8pm tonight. I will see if I do it or I just watch the recording tomorrow.

I have replied to the rubbish light company asking if I can have another of their products to see if they are any better and also what happens when these breaks and I need a replacement. Not holding my breath.
I also had my delivery of mulch it looks really good but it is right on the drive and pavement so I really need to shovel it away and get it onto the garden.

DG could not sleep so started work at 4am. I did doze on and off and got some stuff done for my course while in bed. I am suppose to be on video 14 to 20 this week and I am on 5. Long way behind but hopefully able to catch up today as not a lot of real work on which is just as well. I am actually really enjoying it.
We had a team meeting this morning and the person who always disrupts everything was very good and the person chairing the meeting (my new line manager) was also good so that bodes well. Looks like our Christmas get together on the 6th will be cancelled as their are so many train strikes. Shame but we can do it in January and meet the new members of the team plus have some other join us who cant on the 6th.
I have had another email from crap light company in case you want to look and avoid. They wanted to know which lights I had sent back so I sent them a screen print saying I have sent 3 back which is the truth but it is actually only 2 this time as my friend who we gave them too threw hers out when they broke. If I get two that is better than nothing and I can now keen sending them back everytime they break as you have 2 year warranty.
They were talking about job hunting on my course you should be looking every 6 months to have the best chance of being able to look for the right one and decide if you really want it before your current job gets you down or your contract runs out. Thank goodness I have a good well paid non stressful job and means I can work from home. No intention of doing this but I am helping others try to get better jobs so that must count for something.
Right off to do my course and tick off video 5. Wish me luck getting to 14 and beyond this week.Save £12k in 25 No 49
