daisy_1571 said:The golf meltdowns do seem to happen a lot, is it something she could maybe take a break from for a while? Just a thought, I'm going back to my dog handling days when I would be telling an owner to stop putting the dog in situations where its likely to fail. Humans and dogs ain't so very different from each other, she's maybe just got herself into a pattern where she feels it an acceptable reaction, possibly an inevitable outcome, therefore each time it happens it just solidifies the link, conscious or unconscious.
Just a thought, please don't be offended by my analogy, its just as an outsider reading along, it seems a pattern I would have spotted in my previous life. Golf maybe isn't her game, maybe never will be or maybe could be in the future, but on top of the other things she has going on right now it seems as though its primary purpose of being a relaxing hobby is definitely not being met at the moment.
Take care

Lights are still sat in an envelope ready to be dropped off to a Yodel drop off must get it done this afternoon.
In better news 5 gym session done this week and then golf tomorrow and Sunday. Feels good to get back into things and hopefully stop putting on weight. Mind you the snacking and sweets are to blame for that.
Ordered some Christmas presents for my sister and some for us that is £46 but I will get at least 1/2 back plus it sorts little presents out for 3 friends that we can post if needed. They were on buy one get one free so that was handy. Did succumb to an EcoDot and a Alexa light yesterday £40 on the Prime deal. Not sure how good value it really is but tried to order via the Warehouse deal. It will hopefully save hassle as we can easily switch the down stairs side light on and off plus while we are away. It also means we get a proper functioning Alexa as ours is in the sound bar and it does not work properly. It was however an expense our joint account will struggle with but it is on the credit card so can be paid next month. Also had to order a humane trap as big cat brought a mouse all the way upstairs into a small bedroom with a trundle and two big cabinets and I cannot see how we can get him out.
Final spend is having the pool closed down for the Winter £195 which is expensive but all in the house budget so no issues there. Expensive week for sure but weekend should be cheap. The club has given us £75 each due to some disruptions around the clubhouse so that is free drinks for a while. We dont tend to eat there was it is not that great but might be tempted now.
Best get back to work then.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Still no sign of the mouse in the trap. There is a gap under the door so it could be anywhere by now and both cats have long forgotten all about it. I do hope it makes it outside as I am not looking forward to the small.
Weather is rank here today also really dark which is not nice. Had sourdough bread delivered by the milkman because it was 25% off and I wanted to get rid of our milk bottles. It got a bit wet on the door step but hopefully it will be ok to eat later as a nice breakfast.
Weight myself I have "lost" 1lb I do not really count that but at least I have not put loads on. I really need to focus on that now. Was doing so well after bootcamp but then it all went when we both got Covid. It is as usually the sweet stuff that gets me but we have coconut and hot chocolate so that will help.
I am behind of work so will need to catch up for next week and make sure that I can be ready for all my meetings. I am doing a small piece for a team meeting so also want to be prepared for that.
Hopefully this weekend will be a no spend one as we have got golf and we have all the shopping in we actually need. Happy Friday hope the weather is nicer where you are.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Im with you on the needing to watch my eating habits, I find I'm much more likely to grab sweet treats when the weather gets colder. I'm trying to fill myself up at meals so I don't snack as much. Your gym this week sounds fab!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k4

Not a lot you can do about the mouse. If still alive, the cats will hear it and get it for you. If not, then the smell will alert you to where it is!
When you are losing the pool, you know winter is here. And you are already Christmas present shopping. I am trying to pretend it isn't happening this year.
Hope you are ok, you have been dealing with the stresses that come with caring for someone who has their own problems that they cannot handle, and you must contain yourself to support them. I hope DG is ok, but do take care of you! What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Morning mouse update thanks for your suggestions SavingHolmes and Tahlullah there has been no sign of it dead or alive so it will be the smell no doubt. Stupid cats.
I am up early to try and catch up with work. I am really struggling but we have two gym classes later so need to make the time really. It is also really cold we have had to put the heating on and the cats are not impressed ginger cat is back in bed it is too early for him.
We did have a good weekend no more golf meltdown but lots of nice relaxed golf so again onwards and upwards on that score. Played in a fun team event which basically had lots of obstacles on the greens so felt a bit like crazy golf at time.
Spendwise there was a few things, Saturday we were good only did Lidl's and resisted anything in B&M. Did order some cups for Halloween party at Amazon plus stickers to put on them but they are too small. They were only £4 *(he cups) and the stickers are fine for the new ones we ordered at £5. Our Echo Dot and lightbulb arrived. Really easy to set up and it works. It is nice to be able to switch the light off via voice command even the soundbar can do it. We can also now listen to Spotify via the Echo which the Soundbar could never do before. I think that was £30 well spent.
We had a nice meal in our pool bar Saturday evening, fillet steaks from Lidl cooked perfectly and jacket potatoes plus ratatui make with my own squash and cherry tomatoes. The half price Oddbox arrived and was a nice amount of fruit and veg. We can make some nice meals out of that any over the next few weeks.
We did share 3 bottles of wine so quick trip to MacD for breakfast sadly and then used our cards for a free lunch fishfinger sandwich obviously not good for the diet but could have been worse. We did also spend £4 on two bottles of water as we had not taken enough with us. Very annoying indeed but good day and lovely weather.
Aiming for 6 gym sessions this week over 3 days but we shall see. Work is busier hence the early start.
Hope you all have a lovely Monday.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Did manage one gym session yesterday but not too we were both tired after the golf at the weekend. Food better but still not great at all. Have lost almost a kilo to getting better though.
Done my Duolingo session DG and I are both on 104 days in a row learning Danish and Spanish for me. I hope I shall be able to speak and understand more when we go to Spain in March. It is only 4 nights and I really want to extent the stay but having golf clubs with us is such a pain. It is Sunday to Thursday so would be nice to add a few more days on as the flights would cost the same. Anyway something to think about.
I am still struggling with work and have now been given more which might spur me on or might not. I usually enjoy it but right now it is a pain and I feel a bit out of my depth. My manager is not much help but others in the team are so I might reach out of them and as for advice. I will reach out to the other team members and hopefully move on from there
