Thanks my day did get better but I was then lazy and didn't go to the gym after work. We did go this morning and to two classes CORE and Combat which were both tough. Feels great to have gone and I get to take 1 hour wellbeing time so no work hours lost.
I took most of the money I was owed from the joint account yesterday but that left it really low so we have to take some out of the holiday fund. It still owes me for the xmas flights £500 but that can wait. I have paid some off the card and stashed some in a interest paying account. There are still £1100 outstanding but that will need to be paid after the next payday and I have the money so not a problem. Actually better for me to lock my money away in savings that I then have to get out to spend (I use Monzo).
Cleaner is here and I have no washing left to do so feels like a nice reset. As I had Tuesday off I kept thinking it was Wednesday but we are actually close to the weekend which is really good. Hope it is lovely and sunny where you are my view from my desk is lovely today.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Friends who have seen Voyager rave about it so I am sure you will love it.
The Divas exhibition at the V&A is very good - I particularly loved the ground floor and the history of all the opera divas and the clothes of Josephine Baker and Piaf! - plus the Marina Abramovic as first female in 265 years to have a solo retrospective and RA is also on - yet to visit that but think its v important to support other women
Golf when I tried it is an art and a science - I think you need to be v patient with oneself and the wind(I am not so
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks for the ideas LadyWithAPlan there is no much going on in London it is hard to choose. Yes you have to be patient with golf for sure my game Saturday was with a very good player who did not play well so it happens to even the good ones. Still had a nice time.
Friday night we went to the driving range, brought our own drinks but sadly there was a huge queue and we didn't fancy waiting for a free bay so went home via the pub. We only stayed for 1 drink and it was nice to sit and chat. I used to go to that pub every evening when I was with my ex it is even the same Sally Army guy who comes in he recognised me eventhough it is 15 years ago I used to go in there regularely. No idea how I used to drink every single night - yuck yuck.
Saturday we did the chores around the house and got the pool bar decked out for Halloween. Looks really nice and dg loves doing it so we are having a meal in there on Saturday. We really need to use it more it is a spare room after all. Sunday was a competition for me and dg played 9 holes with another lady and joined everyone afterwards. I had only had muesli for breakfast and we were supposed to cook dinner when we got in. It would have taken a good hour to cook so postponed to today and we went to Spoons instead. It is on a marina so lovely to sit there and people watch. More money spent but could have been worse. We are going to be a bit short at the end of this month but lets wait and see.
I did spend some more money over the weekend as well. I got a 50% off voucher for odd box so ordered a large fruit and veg box. We used to have a fruit box but I got fed up with it always being the same fruit week after week so hopefully this will be a change. I also got an offer for the next 3 orders from PACT coffee for half price so paused my other coffee subscription and started that one. Finally I got an offer from my car dealer I can swap maintenance plan for 10p a month more to include breakdown recovery (which we do have via Nationwide) plus 2 years extended warranty. Best of all I get £100 refund from my current plan which will be welcome in the joint current account.
Finally in money news I emptied my handbag out and at the back i found 350kr which is about £40 so that will be a nice little sum to spend at Christmas when we next go over.
Off to the gym now catch up later.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Just come back on here to confess I did spend £29.43 in T*mu it was mainly a couple of silly xmas presents and an meat thermometer ours broke and with an airfryer it would be useful to have one.
Gym was hard so only did one class will go to the driving range tomorrow night though. Our friend lives really close by she wants to cut down drinking so wants something to do in the evening. She isn't coming tomorrow but updated me that she managed 3 alcohol free nights last week and also had a heavy weekend of drinking. I think that is a lot I never drink during the week now but then again I used to didn't I? Difference is she is over 60 I was in my late 20's when I did drink that much. Anyway back to work now.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Without overgeneralising, many people I knew drank a lot in their 20's, including me. But, I didn't drink on a 'school night' and still don't. What has changes is I no longer drink heavily at the weekend. So yes, your friend does drink a lot relative to many others you know. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Thanks Tahlullah and SavingHolmes I do shudder when I think back I think it was also why I fitted in so well with the private company I worked for. There was always drinks at team events and you could claim alcohol on expenses if staying overnight. Just would not happen where I am today. I am really glad I left that company and took the massive pay cut when I did or I would not have ended up doing something I really enjoy and that is so well paid too for my sector.
Went to hit some golf balls last night and yes you guessed it another meltdown, not the biggest one but we did end up with pizza and garlic bread afterwards. Bought at Lidl's so only cost £12 with some other essentials so I think less than a fiver for the food. Dg had been up since 3.30am and worked to 4pm so she was also shattered but that is still no excuse. The counsellor thinks she is calmer and more stable so they can start working on the grief side of things. I agree she is clamer without the part time job but with golf it is so up and down.
Tonight is gym at 6pm for 2 classes. These are the ones we always skip but I am definitely going. Would be good to do 5 classes this week my aim is always 6 but that does not happen often.
I finally got around to asking for a refund for 2 rubbish set of solar lights I bought last year. They never worked. I bought 3 and sent one back that new set didn't work either. It says they do not refund after 90 days but that is what I asked for and I am sure that was not in the terms when I bought them. They cost £40 for the 2 sets so worth returning. It is one of those sites where 95% are positive responses (the lights work for about 2 weeks) and then if you look in the 2% poor you will see people with the same issues as me. So annoying!!
Anyway onwards and upwards.

The golf meltdowns do seem to happen a lot, is it something she could maybe take a break from for a while? Just a thought, I'm going back to my dog handling days when I would be telling an owner to stop putting the dog in situations where its likely to fail. Humans and dogs ain't so very different from each other, she's maybe just got herself into a pattern where she feels it an acceptable reaction, possibly an inevitable outcome, therefore each time it happens it just solidifies the link, conscious or unconscious.
Just a thought, please don't be offended by my analogy, its just as an outsider reading along, it seems a pattern I would have spotted in my previous life. Golf maybe isn't her game, maybe never will be or maybe could be in the future, but on top of the other things she has going on right now it seems as though its primary purpose of being a relaxing hobby is definitely not being met at the moment.
Take care
