Morning thanks for popping in QuenJess and SalvingHolmes. Denmark is a beautiful green and very flat country. Spoke to my mum last night and she’s helping a Kurdish refugee who’s working in Denmark and the challenges he’s having with the immigration system. It is not easy to get passports but she reckons the 2 Danish tests are not too difficult.I’ve had two late work evenings so a busy week really. We did get out and play golf but yes you guessed dg struggled again and now wants to pull out of Sundays game. Shame it did not last longer the peace maybe she should just give up lol.I got paid my expenses so that can be moved to savings. Need to claim for September. Will be interesting to see the result on the premium bonds on Tuesday.I’m watching the Ryder cup normally I would be watching gardeners world but sorry Monty the golf is more exciting.Plan for today is to put the garden to bed for the winter. Basically all the garden furniture needs to be wrapped up and put in safe places. Need to order a new cover for the Danish garden set also need to empty the hottub which is a big job so need dg to help. She did start work at 5am in order to catch up so she’s allowed to sleep in today.Have a lovely Saturday.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Got the garden packed up and ordered two new covers used old ones for the rest and I think it will be much better packed this year. We get such high winds so everything has to be secure.I bulked cooked a bit yesterday to use my 10% off at Lidls. Got some fillet steaks dg is fussy with fat. Also bought some pork fillets and make a nice pork curry. Got the rest of the tomatoes and old veg roasted and made into more frozen cubes ready to add as flavour to things. Obviously blend them first so there are no bits. Saved £7 with the discount so one free steak. So expensive but really nice to have.We watched a load of Ryder Cup using the Now membership and went to practices some golf. Dg was no better on her irons so she has now pulled out of the competition today. I’m really sad as the rest of her game was getting so good. It’s also annoying but it’s her anxiety and it’s really bad. Baby steps but she’s not entering anything now so I’ll play with another person next week. I do despair sometimes of her.Need to get dressed my tee time is at 9am. We’ve been given £75 each as there’s building work at the club so the drinks afterwards will be free.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks Savingsholmes I played so steady until the 13th and then it all went to pots but that is golf for you. Still had a nice round with some lovely people and we won the Ryder Cup so that was good.
Today it is raining and very wet and I am going to do 2 gym classes so that is going to be tough but this is October now lets get back on track and start shifting those extra pounds much needed action. We have not got as much social this month thank goodness. Just a trip to see Abby Voyager in London for the day (going by train) and golf for me and possibly DG lol. Tomorrow we are playing at another course but it is not a competition. So there is no reason any social activities will derail slimming down the pounds both in money terms and weight.
I have spent quite a bit this month as we have not go much money in our joint funds so I have been paying the cleaner £105 and I am waiting to be paid back for cat food £73, home insurance £214, Lidl £68, Xmas Flights £510 (this is sat in our joint holiday fund so no issues with this one), Driving range card £100. It is all on the credit card so I can take it when I want it and then pay it off when the bill is due.
My car insurance is also due this month so will need to get shopping around I have heard horror stories so not looking forward to that one.
Done a bit of money shuffling as it is better in higher interest rates accounts. £300 from main account leaving nothing in there other than what is needed to pay the DD's. My 7% regular saver with 1stDirect £3600 will be topped up next month so that can then be moved until it is needed for golf membership in May £1200 aprox (not paying for DG this time) and some for Christmas but should be able to save some as a back up fund in cash which would be nice.
Gym is at 9am so best crack on. Hope you have a lovely week.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Definitely keep on top of your car insurance. My original one went up by 135%. From approx 335 to 778. Even after a bit of negotiation it didn't go down by much. Even accepting much worse terms with another provider it was still almost 600. Full no claims no accidents & small car garaged. Although I gather they are now assuming that a car in a garage is at risk of the garage collapsing. What an excuse.

Well that prompted me to take a look it has gone up from £348.67 to £217.93. I did manage to get one for £40 more so that was ok and I get the reward from the switching company although not as good as last year. Still £20 to spend in Halfords is not too bad can always buy anti freeze.
Going to sign off now until Wednesday which will be so nice although I might have to log in tomorrow afternoon just to check for 1 document.
Feel so tired after my two gym sessions but also feels great to have been. I do need to get my bin out it is also garden rubbish tomorrow and I could cut some of mine down to get it in the bin best go and do that now.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Glad you've managed to resolve your insurance. As BM says it seems to have rocketed this year.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yes so glad insurance is sorted that is both home and car done now.
Just had a call with my manager which felt like she was telling me off so thought I would come on here before I do any more work. She is not that knowledgeable herself so it sometimes grinds on me when it feels like she is lecturing me. She mostly leaves me alone and I have other people I can ask which is much better than her. She is nice enough though so rant over.
Golf day was nice did spend £10 of a raffle (did not win anything) plus 4 drinks which were actually cheap £1 for a coke and £1.50 for a a latte. Did not get tempted to any golf stuff and played okish but could have been better. DG enjoyed herself so she is now talking about playing again. She really is difficult sometimes. I have bought her some stress balls that are arriving today. Her counsellor suggested that for golf. Lets see lo.
Booked train tickets for London for when we go to see Abba Voyager. We are also going to the Orbital and having dinner afterwards. Might catch up with some friends might not. Also used our converted Tesco vouchers to book 1 night in Brighton. We did upgrade to a King Size bed as could not cope with a double lol so £30 plus train tickets. It is the end of November so something to look forward to then as well as Abba.
Will mainly be playing golf the other weekends and no more socialising with other people has been planned. We also have a few jobs around the house to do this weekend plus I am playing on Sunday without DG. She is still trying to catch up on work so is getting up really early but at least she had a day off yesterday.
Right enough procrastination need to get back to it.
