    Ah it is so nice to see so many faces back on this thread. I find reading your small things so inspirational. There’s so much bad press etc at the moment, coming on here and reading positive things people are doing is nice.

    Can I ask, how do people dry washing in an eco-friendly/ cost effective way? I see lots of people not turning their heating on etc but that’s how I dry washing? Is it more cost effective to use the tumble dryer? If we get a dry day, would washing on the line dry if it’s cold?

    Quite a few friends have said they use a heated airer. I think clothing would dry at fairly low temperatures as that's to do with air humidity, it would just take longer the colder it is.

    Thanks, I’ll look into investing in a heated airer.

    I often lurk in this thread when I need some ideas/motivation so I thought i'd post some things i've done so far this week;

    - Bought a YS gammon joint reduced from £4 odd to £2 odd. Cooked it in the SC and made about 4 or 5 meals worth of gammon stew.

    - Bought YS diced chicken pieces and a loaf, put in freezer for now.

    - Walked into town to pick up new specs rather than drive. I'm finding I hardly use the car these days, enjoying walking instead.

    - Reusing teabags for 2nd brew.

    - Doing lots of short surveys on Curious Cat app, will cash out at end of the month.

    - Keeping warm with heated throw in the evenings.

    - Potted on some geranium cuttings from my mums garden ready to plant out in the spring. I love the fact it's possible to get free plants just by taking cuttings from other peoples. I've only recently started to take more of an interest in gardening and I find gardeners are really happy and willing to take cuttings to grow on elsewhere :)

    Put a duvet cover over it or get one with a cover. Makes a massive difference. I like having it in the room as I think it makes it a kettle warmer if you sit by it too!

    I've been enjoying reading this thread this year as I'm getting back into our MSE ways since Covid.

     A tip from me that might help someone: There are quite a few good monthly savers around from £50 a month and some are even 25 I think so if you like to save for Christmas or need a place for next year's bills or emergency fund, maybe take a look at the regular savers thread in the savings board?  Principality have a Christmas saver at 5% interest that you can apply for online for eg.

    This is a great tip, thanks. I love looking at the interest coming in. Feels like free money.
