Another day of not doing much, but I'm enjoying it as it's not because of feeling rubbish. I'm getting stuck into some books and just pottering around.
I've just realised I have two short weeks, as I'm only in until Wednesday this week due to poll clerking, and then next weekend is the bank holiday weekend, so woo hoo!
I've come up with a bit of a plan of action for some of the annoyances at work as well, so hopefully can reduce that a little. There's not much point in doing a lot else until I know what is happening long term and if I have a place in the streamlined organisation, and if so, where that might be.
I've still got my eyes on the prize of FIRE, so keeping that in mind."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Glad you are feeling better and have come up with a plan.

Today's PAD - £2
Jan - £319
Feb - £135
Mar - £129
Apr - £110"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
I updated my financials last night as they aren't likely to change much before tomorrow. Thank goodness pay day is almost here!
I also had another look at my retirement plans and updated my figures. I'm still happy that if I sit where I am (and continue to have a job), then I will be in a good position to go in just under 9 years time. That relies on me maximising savings, supporting the kids through uni if they want to go, and trying to get a lot of work done in the house in the meantime. It should help keep me focussed and not spending too much on unnecessary things!
In the event that I was made redundant or left, my current pension build up will be ok if I work around 10 hours a week at minimum wage until SP. I don't have huge living costs, don't buy a lot of 'stuff' and don't have ambitions for lots of expensive travel, so I am happy to live a simple life on a not huge income. It's reassuring from various threads on here that it is possible to live a good life without spending a fortune.
So essentially, every day I stay in work is increasing my basic pension income. I haven't included my lump sum, AVCs and LISA in my calculations so they will be a bonus.
What I need to do in the meantime is maintain at least my current level of income so I can do what I need to do in the meantime!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee7 -
That well paid survey is still showing in my PA account. The universe is telling me to get on and do it! I must find the time."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

I finished at 4.30 today, so have had a bit of extra time today, so I've finally done the survey! Hopefully they won't be too long paying up.
I had a fairly good day at work today, tackling a few things on my to do list. I managed to send a tactful response to the email that irritated me the other day. It did take a few attempts
I made spag bol for dinner, and in the process managed to spill a packet of spaghetti all over the floor 🤦♀️ I thought it was a sealed packet but it clearly wasn't. That was fun clearing it up."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
I managed to increase PBs by £200 this month, and my PAD account is now at £288.51. It doesn't equate to the monthly PAD totals as I was paying to the mortgage at the start of the year, interest is paid on this account monthly, and I also often send odd pennies over from the accounts which I don't count. It's a good increase on the £167 it was last month though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Your long term plans sounds exciting, as do your short term plan to go to Cornwall for a weekend in the AutumnIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Well done on the financial planning and on your progress.
I hate it when I have those kinds of spills with the pasta Jwil. My sympathies trying to pick up the strands!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
