Thank you. I'm so glad it's cooled down a bit now!EssexHebridean said:Glad you're feeling better today - I think the hot weather is so energy sapping and that doesn't help if you're feeling even slightly off colour, does it! And of course it affects sleep too - I've certainly felt far higher energy levels thanks to a couple of decent nights sleep since it's cooled off a bit!
Thank you. This garage is always getting recommended, and they have rave reviews online. They got back to me nice and quickly as well, so I'm sure it will all be fine. It will be much more convenient having somewhere in walking distance for sure.savingholmes said:Glad you are feeling better. I think if you pick the right garage whether or not they do repairs as well as mots is less of an issue. It can certainly be more convenient if you can go to one for both. As the day went on yesterday I started feeling rough again, and had another bad night
Typical as we have a busy day today. I've got deadlines for work and then later we need to go and see a secondary school for little jwil 😱 as well as go and see little miss doing her Promise at Brownies.
Roll on Friday!
I sold a small item yesterday so will have a couple of extra £ to PAD tomorrow. It all helps!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Hope you feel better soon

Last night went well, we managed to juggle both Brownies and the school open evening. All looks good though I fear how expensive it will all be! We'll have to do a virtual tour for the second choice as it's on a night when little jwil is at his residential.
Little miss did very well doing her promise so she's now a fully fledged brownie.
I'm very glad today is my Friday, and I managed to tick a few things off my to do list yesterday at work so that's good for taking some of the pressure off.
Tesco app was down last night so I couldn't make any changes to my shopping which is annoying. At least I'd logged on in the morning to ensure I wasn't below the delivery charge cost, so I've got most things coming.

Congratulations to Little Miss on her full Brownie status! And excellent news that the open evening went well too. If the second choice open night is on a night when Little jwil isn't available because of an existing school commitment might it be worth finding out if other children are affected the same way and asking if they can do a visit on another evening for that group?

Thank you, that's a good idea. I've asked him and he says he's not bothered. We're relatively confident he'll get into our first choice so I won't push it. The schools both have good reputations and I think we'd be happy with both, but the first choice is our catchment and significantly nearer!EssexHebridean said:Congratulations to Little Miss on her full Brownie status! It was annoying about the app, but I think I got most things. It's a nudge to remember not to leave it to the last minute though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
My week is done, hurrah!
I think I'll be taking it easy tomorrow. I'm still not quite right, generally ok as long as I don't eat
I think it's turned into a touch of ibs.
I want to have a quiet weekend, as little jwil has a lot going on next week, including a new invite to a birthday outing. We need to make sure he's got everything he needs, and I need to keep on with frugal September, especially with the car due early next month.
DH is currently awaiting a call back from 111. He fell down our stairs last week, and seemed ok if a bit bruised, but he's hurt himself today at work so it's probably worth getting checked out.
I signed up for the Great British Insulation Scheme today. I'm not sure if we'll be eligible as we don't have an EPC but it's worth a try. I'm hoping to see about cavity wall insulation rather than loft insulation as the loft is well insulated with stuff 🙄"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
