This month's PADs are looking good again
I've been making a concerted effort to keep up with surveys, and I ditched I-say as it was just too time consuming, tedious and I was getting screened out far too much. That frees up time to check PA and OP more frequently, getting me to cashout sooner.
Yesterday I sorted through the airing cupboard and put a lot of stuff to go. Including several small towels of which we have far more than we will ever need. I put the bags in my car, but forgot to take them into school with me. DH spotted them in my boot and wasn't impressedI don't think he's retrieved anything though 🙄
Today I plan on continuing with the cleaning and tidying. We are heading back to the library later as little miss has read all the books she borrowed last week, and is currently feeling the love for reading, so I want to encourage her.
This weekend once our ebay listings go out, I shall leave them until we come back from our holiday. That will be a nice break, and also allows us to avoid slow payers or time for any other issues to arise and be resolved before we go (hopefully none of course!)
My support will be required for a relative having a big op next week, so it would be good to get as much done as possible this weekend."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
I'm glad they've tweaked the look of the forum a bit again, my bookmarked threads are much easier to read now!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Finally caught up with a lot of admin stuff. I've also booked and paid for school lunches until Oct half term. This is the first year that little miss has to pay, so she's doing the same as little jwil and having 3 days with a lunchbox and 2 days school meals.
Popped the dates for secondary school open days in the calendar - I can't believe little jwil is going into his last year of Primary 😱
I've re-registered them for after school club, sorted out some paperwork, caught up with surveys and sorted through a pile of stuff.
DH is still uncertain about the bathroom, so I have suggested a compromise - we leave the bath, except for changing the taps (that helps relieve my concern about a new bath not seeming to fit), and just change the toilet and basin, box in the pipes and retile and refloor the whole room. The benefit of that would be it would probably be cheaper. We'd still have a yellow bath, but if the rest of the room is freshened up and not peach and green, then it would at least look better. So that might be an option. The bath is the biggest sticking point, as he likes the size and depth of this one, so at least this way we'd both be happier."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". It would still make a big difference.

I did a bit more tidying this morning, so am pleased with the progress. I've almost cleared a spot on the floor which had been a dumping ground!
We went in to the library this afternoon, and the kids (and I!) got out some more books. They've got a health check machine in the library so I thought I would give it a go. It does weight, height, BMI and blood pressure. The weight was the same as home so that was good as it shows my scales are accurate. I was quite disappointed to find my blood pressure was a bit high though. It might partly be due to the fact that I didn't bother sitting down for 10 mins first like it recommended, but it's probably another sign that I need to work on my health.
It's so soul destroying that I keep trying and not making any significant progress, but I guess at least it's better to keep trying than not try at all.
Anyway, I'll keep plodding, and now I know where the machine is, and how to use it, I might try and use it periodically to keep track."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Maybe instead of white coat syndrome you have machine syndrome. My bloodpressure goes shooting up as soon as I get near anyone medical & as soon as I'm out of there it goes shooting back down. A bit worrying as I've got one of those preop check ups soon.
