Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments. As part of the stocking up process, I've pulled back from Wa*tr*se. There is a cashback offer (5% if you spend £100 or more) but it's just not worth it...the cost of everything has risen so much! I believe in good quality food but surely there's a limit?! I've requested a small monthly drawdown from my pension and I can send it back every month within 30 days if I do get another job and don't need it. I'd stop drawdown at that point. Feeling better. Love Humdinger xx11

So, mixed news to report. Starting with grumpiness and moving upward: S*ur*p*dy walking shoes. Bought in Feb for £40; wore till summer so approx 3 months and then put away as too warm. Putting them back on, the zip on one broke. It will cost £39 to repair! Emailed co from website and no reply so went to R*solv*r and have put in case there. If both went the same way it would cost twice the amount to repair than it cost to buy! Credit card co says it can do nothing though I might ring again.
In better news, am ringing old client tomorrow re poss new project. DH has also fixed the printer saving £245 on a new one!
I'm gradually getting used to the reality of a good life on less money than I've ever had. Happy Sunday to all readers love Humdinger xx6 -
Hope you get a positive response to your complaint.
I love hearing about people living a good life on lower incomes. It's very inspiring."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Sounds like the quality of the walking shoes and their customer service has declined… 🤞for a positive outcome to your complaint!Like jwil, I also love reading about people having a good life on a smaller income. Makes it seem possible for us, once we clear the millstone-mortgage … 😉
