Thanks @KajiKita! Early, as I keep waking up at ludicrous times. DD is fine thanks and in my view, has dodged a bullet. I think as @doingitanyway says, given the mix of voluntary, paid and political work I do, projects are the way forward. I so appreciate all your comments and am heading back to my usual state of sunny delight. DD agreed that it was pure waste of money to renew house lease for another 6 months so has handed in her notice. A woman of action! Thank you all for your comments. @foxgloves, sometimes I have to force myself to walk but am always pleased afterwards. Love to all Humdinger xx4

DD is a very wise young lady, as indeed she would be with you on her team. Like the irons in the fire approach, lovely to see your updatesMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
@KajiKita you have set a rabbit running! Sunny delight; I think it's a mixture of conscious and unconscious processes. Oddly enough, the foundations were probably laid when my father died two days before my 18th birthday. This was not joyful, far from it. My bubble was shattered...but at a subconscious level, I had to decide how I was going to keep afloat. Dad had always said that I was a survivor, when dealing with bullies at school for instance. It took me 10 years (including serious therapy) to come to any kind of terms with his loss, but at that point I decided that I couldn't spend the rest of my life in deep grief. At times, I've been guilty of magical thinking, which is probably why I can spot it in others.
Now, I find that living in reality and not fantasy keeps my feet on the ground but also opens up moments of delight in the everyday. Is this mindfulness?
Thanks everyone; onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx6 -
Hey @Humdinger1,Welcome backSorry to hear things have been tough going with work and your DD's job situ. I agree, I find walks on the beach theraputic. The sounds of the waves, sand underfoot and seeing the sunrise. Plus collecting shells and sea glass a blessing and way from the chaos.Hope you feel a bit more energised soon.
