Hope you feel better soon @KajiKita

Glad you perked up a bit Sandy. It's not nice when you feel flat even if you know the reason.

Thanks savingholmes, I have really perked up lately.  I've started prioritising myself a lot more lately - walks, water, exercise and making sure I have some relaxing time.  Home is feeling a bit messy lately, but there's a balance for me between tidying and cleaning and enjoying life.  I'd ideally love a perfectly clean and tidy home, but I'm learning to live with mess and imperfection - I wish I'd done it a long time ago.  That said, I would like to spend a bit more time cleaning so I've bargained with the OH that he will do the cooking for the next few weeks and while he's cooking I'm going to catch up on the cleaning.  Who knows, it may become a permanent thing.

Thanks savingholmes, I've tried for years to get MrShores into a cleaning rota but it's impossible.  He can't seem to embrace the concept of a quick flick round with the duster or a run with the hoover.  Cleaning to him is removing all items out of the room, then cleaning everything, then putting it all back - you know a several hours job.  So inevitably it very rarely starts because there's not enough time to do that.

I've started following the Flylady threads again to give me some motivation and it's working pretty well so far.

Thanks Kajikta, I didn't think I was alone   Mr Shores was 'too tired' to cook this evening, so I took on cooking duties.  I was quite happy to be relieved of cleaning duties though as I felt pretty tired too.  Luckily it was a quick 10 minute pasta meal so not a problem and I did have a night off cooking last night.  We share cooking over the weekends, so will have to see how next week goes.

Thank you savingholmes.  Had a busy but fun weekend, so on Monday while Mr Shores cooked I laid on the sofa and recuperated :).  Back to the plan today though and while Mr Shores cooked I did a couple of cleaning tasks, and carried on with cleaning the kitchen window after we'd eaten.  I love doing bite size cleaning, it's much less laborious.  My plan is to just do tasks like this and eventually the house will be sparkling without having to dedicate much if any precious weekend time to it.

edit - forgot to report that I have now read a whole half a book!

Thanks savingholmes.  As the week has gone by my enthusiasm for cleaning has waned.  But should build up some more energy over the weekend.  Where does the time go?

I was just reading Fortunes post about using time more productively and finishing those projects.  I've got a few like that - sewing, knitting, crochet and painting.
