The bargain veg. went down very well, as did the the amazingly priced joint of meat.  There is definitely something satisfying about a lovely but well priced meal - and an extra couple of days off work has helped with the relaxation.

Not much time spent in the garden today, so it will be the priority tomorrow as well as a trip to the garden centre - might be a few more ££s to spend this month.  ££s set aside for the car service, and for the sewing machine which is arriving tomorrow.  May is going to be a pull your belt in month after all this spending, so hopefully the BG refund will come through (did I mention I'm waiting for the review ) only a few more days to wait.  I say 'definitely' switching to variable, but that will only be definitely if they get my future direct debit amount wrong.  My calculations are based on last year's usage at current prices with a bit added on - I haven't accounted for the reduction in people so if they have vastly different amounts to me it won't be acceptable.

I'll try and forget BG for a few days    I've a busy week this week in terms of finishing things off/tasks being ticked off, which means that Friday should be the start of a period of less stress.  I will be sitting on my hands for the rest of the summer unless its something that directly benefits me.

Ooh, good thinking redofromstart. I agree they are lovely, I've started cutting them in rings rather than lengthwise and they taste even nicer to me for some strange reason - I think because they cook more evenly.

Good shopping trip to the garden centre yesterday and managed to find exactly what we needed quite quickly.  We were going to stop for a cuppa but by the time we left it was the middle of lunch and the cafe was packed so we went straight on to the outlaws.  DH wanted to plant up when we got home - shame about the blustery rainy weather, but we managed to get it all done fairly quickly without losing anything - though I did have to chase after a couple of empty compost bags before they took off next door.  The garden is really taking shape now and I'm looking forward to enjoying it in the nicer weather (apparently that will be along towards the weekend).  We've more or less agreed on what we would like to do with the front garden, but there are still some things to do in the back garden yet so that's on hold for now.

Lots on this week - something doing every day, but will be lots ticked off.  Must remember not to put my hand up for anything else now - I'm going to concentrate on me, the family, the garden and the hobbies.

Ticked two very large items off the to do list today - phew.  One more to do on Thursday and I need to prep for it this evening as I'm out tomorrow.  Then it will be coasting into the weekend.

I ticked item number 3 off of the list today - very pleased to have that particular task done and over with.  I feel really tired this evening, its been a bit of a relief to get through some very time consuming / stressful tasks.  To cap it all I found out that I should be getting a bonus in my next pay packet which was a nice surprise.  Feels like a good reward for getting through everything.

Thank you @KajiKita   I was just thinking about it this morning and with all the spending we have done this month I don't think there is anything we need to use it for - I can't believe we are actually in this position.  Thoughts of a holiday or employing someone to paint the house/makeover the front garden flitted through my head, but honestly they are things we can do ourselves - and I want to enjoy our garden/house at the moment.  I think its going to be an OP (to remove another month) and a small visit to our respective sports shops for me and Mr Shores.  My ToDo list is now literally a giant list of things ToDo with £s involve.  I have no excuse but to get on with the list now

Logged onto the BG account in anticipation of the review 'by 14th April', to be met with a 'Something went wrong' message and you won't be able to access all of the features of your account.  This afternoon it has changed to 'We're currently billing your account' and it could take 24 hours.  So hopefully it will be ready by 15th April - just a day later.  Everything is slow in the world of BG billing.
