I bought a new bucket just before I moved 9 years ago. When I got to the till, I noticed it had double handles. The retail person couldn’t separate it(massive air lock) and neither could the removal men…..I’ve been using it for 9 years!
A-d- must’ve lost a fortune, selling two buckets for one, all these years……8 -
Thanks, my dentist has taken early retirement so I hope the new one is as nice.
Lol, yes it used to be 2 salaries & 2 cars!

Congratulations on epic shed clearing @foxgloves! Creates mental space too, no? Not enjoying this heat at all and as for the humidity...onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx

Oh, that's funny about the double bucket, @liselle.
Yes, @Humdinger1, the shed clearing did get rid of some mental clutter. I'm with you on this heat & humidity. Perfectly horrid.

Hello Melty Readers,
Uuuurrgh, I am counting the days until more bearable temperatures kick in. Today didn't go as planned. Had to cancel the dentist trip as I awoke at 4.15 a.m feeling completely ghastly - a headache pressing down on the top of my head which is how my very occasional migraines usually start. Took some painkillers which stopped it getting worse but didn't relieve it at all. So Mr F brought me some toast, coffee & a big glass of water & I spent most of the morning being a sad sack.
Anything moneysaving? Well, we'd intended going out for lunch post-dentist, so no money spent there. Mr F went to get the grocery shopping & came out pretty much on budget, considering he bought a large bag of coffee beans & a small bucket of peanut butter which will last well into July's grocery budget cycle.
We also needed to have a long, involved & tedious discussion about the new car we ordered in February & was supposed to be here this month (now Aug or Sept). I think I mentioned that the war has held this up (exactly how, I don't know). Mr F received a call from the dealership 1st thing this morning to say that as of next week, they will no longer be selling this brand of car so did we want them to pass our order on for fulfilment from a franchise elsewhere or cancel it & get our deposit back. We were just thinking we might as well do the latter, then begin the order process again at a nearer dealership when I decided to check the cost of this against our current invoice. Our original order was made when there was a time-limited deal on plus they guaranteed our part-ex price due to the wait & when we compared prices, we could see that starting again from scratch would cost us. I did say it was tedious, didn't I? We have instructed the sales team to progress transferring our order. I think the difference would be around £4K.
Ash stays out all night in the summer & bounded in this morning absolutely the grubbiest cat on the street. Goodness knows where he'd been. Soot didn't want any breakfast. The heat (which he hates) had really got to him, I think. So I gave him a licky tube treat & pinged Mr F to buy some cat soups thinking they'd be good hydration. Well, he slurped one of those then said he thought he might be able to manage some of his spurned breakfast. Soot doesn't like things which happen TO him & horrible hot days obviously fall into that category.
Garden pickings: Lettuce, 2 cukes & spring onions.
Turned the heel on my sock & finished the foot shaping.
A cold shower & hairwash saw off the last of the headache.

The headache sounds awful, glad you managed to wash it off.
What a palaver with the car 😖Our cats have been sleeping under shady pushes all day. The dog has been on her cool mat with a fan blowing on her.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪6 -
Have you tried Imigran? Absolutely magic!

@Sun_Addict - I am wondering whether Soot would lie on a cool mat if I bought one for him. I put a damp cold towel out on our shady courtyard for him the other day but he wasn't bothered.
@liselle - I have heard that Imigran is good from an ex-colleague. No, I haven't tried it because migraines are a rare thing for me, thankfully, & I can generally get rid of them with codeine, tiger balm & closing the curtains. I am lucky that I don't get the full migraine shebang. My sister started getting them when she was about 12 & they are debilitating with aura, the full works. Mum & Grandad got them too, so probably a genetic thing for the 3 of them. My worst headaches were monthly cycle-based & I don't miss any of that silly old nonsense at all!
