I just breathed a sigh of relief that Soot is on the mend. He must be due some catch up dream eez and licky juice. I'm sure he will soon be reminding you of this.
aren't scammers vile? Glad they were thwarted and thank you for sharing as it's a good reminder to be vigilant.7 -
I’ve often had cats stop eating for a while, as you say, responding to food cues but not actually eating. They usually get back on it within 24 hours, so I understand why Soot’s long absence from eating was a worry. Glad he’s getting back to himself through.Well done for dealing with the scam thing so well. So annoying when that happens.I’m sorry Mr F has had a tough week as well. I hope things improve for him.The greenhouse looks fabulous 😊👏KKAs at 15.07.25:

Oh my days what an awful time you’ve had. These scammers are an absolute pain in the a$$ 🤬 Thank goodness you managed to get it sorted. Sorry to hear about Mr F’s work stress, I hope it’s something that will get resolved. I hope Soot continues to improve and quickly gets back to his normal self 🙏
I’ve kept checking in on you, hoping for news because I was concerned. Hopefully things are going to run more smoothly now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Thank you for giving such a clear explanation of the scam. I've been lucky so far but it is good to know things to look out for.6

I am glad to hear Soot is on the mend. I hope Mr F can put this week behind him and the situation doesnt arise again.
SWcammers are despicable and it is so easy to get caught. Well done on beiing so vigilant and sorting things out before you lost any money.6 -
Love the garden picture. So wonderful to hear that Soot is eating better.
Hope the other problems resolve themselves, especially with Mr. F.
My roommate has spent at lest three hours today trying to resolve a banking problem involving scammers. It doesn't help that he is still drunk and the poor lady at the bank has had to call 18 times on our phone and at least that many on his cell phone just this morning alone. This has been going on all week - but he was even drunker earlier in the week. He is supposed to be sobering up enough to go into rehab tomorrow. At least they know he hasn't been wandering around the country trying to make purchases on his account - he can barely make it to the bathroom and back. He has fallen three times in a week just trying that.

Foxgloves - you have motivated me to try and do something about a scam tax payment that I supposedly made to HMRC back in January, that I only realised could well be a scam just recently. It’s a not insignificant amount too!
I’m going to take it up with my bank first, and I’ll let you know how I get on.
Thank you!6 -
What a blessing for you both that you're in a position where Mr F's work situation doesn't mean a big change to your quality of life or your future plans ❤️ Much credit to both your mse ways that you have adopted, that are showing their immense importance when life happens!
Hope all goes as smoothly and pleasantly as can be while things are in transition.
So glad to hear poor old Soot has perked up, cats are very random with their illnesses and hopefully this will be distant memory soon, or if there's any further cause for concern, some blood tests and a specific treatment will see him quickly returning to being a connoisseur of all foodstuffs
Oh my goodness what horrible scammers! How is anyone meant to know the screen isn't genuine when it's a replicate of the screen you can't see underneath?! So scary. Thank you for sharing details so we're all better informed.
Great pic, what a lot of happy-looking plants!
Hope the whole household has a thoroughly nice Sunday and beyond of domestic wellness and loveliness x9 -
Glad to hear that Soot is on the mend - I was worried about him!
Hope Mr F’s work troubles are soon resolved/improved at least.
And scammers 🤬 Another thanks from me for the clear explanation - and the point about calling rather than responding to the text from the bank.I hope you have a relaxed and enjoyable Sunday and things go more smoothly this week. I certainly never bore of garden-related stories - I’ve definitely learnt a lot from reading your diary over the years. And your greenhouse pic was lovely!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I hope Soot continues to return to his normal self and doesn’t give cause for further concern.Scammers have become so convincing that it is almost inevitable that we shall one day each fall victim to them. Being open and sharing our experiences is a good way to counter them I think as it helps to see the different ways that they will try to dupe us. Thank you for confirming that actually phoning the bank is the best course of action.I’m sorry that Mr F has had a bad situation to deal with, whatever that may be. I am very aware that the workplace doesn’t seem to offer the same kind of security as it did 40 years ago. Those days are long gone unfortunately. It has become even more important that people consciously manage their finances as you do. I feel rather relieved to be retired and outside it even though we don’t have large pensions. I worry for my children though, as keeping up with modern life and raising children doesn’t allow for much putting aside for a rainy day. It’s bizarre to hope that we will not require expensive care later in life but that is the way of it. Just in the hope that we can leave them something to help with that time when they might find work difficult but still have a long wait for any pension to appear.A lovely uplifting picture of your greenhouse is just what I needed thank you 😊11
