Hi & thanks for all your comments & feedback.
@Moorviews - The farming family which brings its lovely fresh produce to sell on our local market each week told us that 'mucky carrots' (as they call the freshly pulled ones still with soil on them) keep longer than the washed carrots sold in the supermarket & we have definitely found this to be the case. I don't really mind scrubbing veg, but I suppose I have a veggie plot so am well-used to doing it.
@Four_Seasons - Thanks. Yes, TRE is definitely interesting. I want to give it a fair trial after a good week's start, Re your comment about it making you more mindful, I am finding that it is cutting out snacks. For example, as I am eating breakfast so much later (at 10 am), I am not then having my usual coffee with a snack at 10.30am because I've only just eaten. I am also having a later lunch as a knock-on effect of the late breakfast, which means I don't have a snack mid-afternoon either. I will be interested to see if I have lost a little bit more when I next weigh in.
@ziggy2407 - That's interesting about the 'finny haddock' expression. Even with my family interest in the historic fishing industry, I didn't know that expression, or the meaning of it, so thanks for sharing.
My Mum also used to say 'two shakes of a lamb's tail'.
@Suffolk_lass - My Dad never shouted 'mint sauce' at sheep, but he was known for winding down the car window & shouting sarky comments at drivers who sounded their horn at him for no good reason, especially if it was one of those silly siren horns which played a tune. His favourites were "Show us what else you had for Christmas" & "I had one of those once & the wheel fell off!"
Have been busy with sensible financial stuff, so must get a post on later.

@foxgloves that’s exactly what I find with TRE - it cuts out all the snacks, which is really all I need to do. I know it’s also good for my microbiome too, but the removal of snacks (and reduction of food we get through!) is the key thing!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
