I also love to eat mostly with the seasons and enjoy the variety it provides throughout the year. The tasty roots and beautiful squeaky fresh greens of autumn and winter are things that I look forward to as the weather turns colder. Of course I greatly enjoy all those colourful Mediterranean vegetables on the odd occasion too and they can brighten a dark winter day sometimes. I think they are so in demand because their preparation and cooking is quite quick and they tend to be sweet and tasty, as well as forming the basis of several popular cuisines. Washing mud off cabbage leaves and scrubbing away at parsnips may hold less appeal for people at the end of a long day and we aren’t often shown how to use them to their best advantage. Someone who does do this, is a doctor who writes cookbooks with the aim of getting in as much nutrition via vegetables as possible and I have been enjoying reading, cooking and eating his recipes. We are so fortunate to have had so much choice in modern times and not to have to face that “hungry gap” before the early summer harvests begin anymore.
The only time I have hot cross buns is on Good Friday and possibly the Saturday; definitely only the fruity spiced variety. I must admit @foxgloves, that I felt quite queasy reading that flavour combination!6 -
I heard on the radio that as countries such as France are prepared to pay more for, say, a cucumber than the UK, when there’s a shortage the suppliers will obviously sell to the countries who pay more first.Out of season strawberries don’t taste very nice I never buy them. I prefer to eat seasonal goods at the right time of year.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

I’m going to admit I don’t like hot cross buns whatever the flavour 😬 but I love the smell of them when they’re freshly baked.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I struggled last year to find “normal” hot cross buns. All I could find was a million varieties of strange combinations.2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Morning Campers, rise & shine!
What happened to February? It seems to have disappeared in the merest flash of a blink of an eye!
Today is my Big Budget Day & I really need to put the time into it, so will be starting that shortly, as soon as I've got the first load of laundry into the heated airer (rain forecast here).
First weigh-in this morning after a week of the new diet: Exactly 2kg off, which feels like a positive start.
Right, izzy-whizzy let's get busy.
Wishing everyone a good start to the week. Keep your mitts on your money.

That is such a good weight loss well done, I managed 1lb. I find the TRE makes me quite mindful of what I am eating. Hope your big budget goes well, have a good day x5

@foxgloves not that I want to wish my life away...but February does seem so much shorter than January though it's only a few days less, no? The longer lighter days and snowdrops/croci everywhere make a huge difference. Plus tge first of 2 months without council tax; it all adds up. Happy budgeting love Humdinger xx5

Well done on 2kg off 👏 February has flown by in a flash or as my mum used to say in “two shakes of a finny haddock’s eyelash”. I have no idea what a finny haddock is and I doubt they have eyelashes but I always knew what she meant 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
