You've hit the nail on the head with the postmen in shorts - that is the reason! I actually asked ours a long time ago but wearing shorts in winter and that was the reason he gave!8

Yes was so annoyed at Guide camp when the moment it started raining we had to change from jeans into shorts but can totally see the practicality of it now6

Well, I wouldn't have guessed that about postmen's legs. Honestly, only on here! The topics that get covered......
Hello Wednesday Pence Wranglers,
Beautiful chilly but bright, sunny morning, but by lunchtime, the drizzle had started, building up to showers & now the wind is back! Never mind, I did manage to get all my outdoor tasks done this morning, brightened by Mr F receiving a further courtesy update on the car. The parts have apparently arrived & it is still their intention to try & deliver the car back to us by the end of next week. We are trying not to hope TOO much, but this would certainly be a welcome end to a highly annoying saga. Anyway, onto today's budget positives - have been nicely productive today, which is much needed for the rest of this month:
*Changed bed linen, loaded washer, but will not run a load until I know I can get a dry day for pegging out. Paying for drying laundry once we are into Spring is just too annoying!
*Made tomorrow's packed breakfast & lunch (the latter is a box of quite enticing looking frozen leftovers).
*Cheapo nosebag tonight as have defrosted 2 portions of home made soup which we will have with either scrambled eggs or cheese on toast.
*Wrote out meal plans for next week.
*Fed sourdough jar ready to mix up later & bake tomorrow.
*No surveys for me today, but checked anyway to show willing.
*Did a few minor budget updates including moving a small royalty payment from my Dad's estate received this week into our Leisure & Entertainment Pot. Dad was a musician & I know he would love to think his royalty payments were going towards us continuing to enjoy live music.
*Potted up more seedlings - bedding asters, rudbeckia, zinnia & the largest of the larkspur (all but the latter were free seeds).
*Potted young chilli plants up into their final pots.
*Fed all the greenhouse veg babies with very dilute seaweed solution - they need to be so robust by the time we go on holiday that they are happily dancing fandagos on an hourly basis. After that, they're on their own.
Had intended to lug my big seasonal clothes storage bag out to start swapping stuff over & seeing what my summer gear looks like, but I have bumped this task until tomorrow as I have absolutely promised myself a nice bath & hair wash this afternoon & still haven't quite finished everything else I'd intended to do. Tbh, when I look outside, I can't imagine getting into my summer dresses just yet, but I still like to do a bit of an annual inventory & hang things up ready, so will defo aim to do tomorrow. Just need to pop down to the greenhouse in the rain to apply bubble wrap over the more temperamental plant babies, then it will be time for that lovely soak.
Wishing everyone a pleasant evening,
F x

How lovely that your dad's royalty payment will go towards your entertainment. A great way to pay tribute to him.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

I'm mainly managing to get washing dry outside or on an ordinary indoor airer (conservatory helps) but this week looks like bedding will have to be done two days early (or drapped indoors)
And so lovely to know your dad's music lives on8 -
Another one here who is refusing to put a load through until there is a decent chance of it getting dried outside, but I may well have to give in before long as we're visiting family at the weekend and so will only have Friday for any drying that needs doing!
Also putting off the sorting out of summer clothes - most stuff lives in my wardrobe all year round but it's the things like tops that I change over. I'm still absolutely fine in long sleeves at the moment though, so no hurry!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It’s freezing here…..not even thought about summer clothes at all.
You lot can’t half chat 😂😂😂 it’s taken me ages to catch up with all the ramblings. 👍 😂
So pleased your car hasn’t been written off. Somebody ran into me several years ago at a few miles an hour. There was a tiny scratch on the bumper but it was written off as the chassis had been jolted and bent apparently. I’d had it from new and only do about 3000 a year in it. I was gutted.

Love your dad's royalty payments 😊
I had cheese and puree on toast for brunch today and decided to put some chopped celery on it too, it was delicious and not too overpowering, and a good way of sneaking extra f&v in, don't know why it hasn't occurred to me to do it before as I often add onion6 -
Friday is looking good for drying the washing. I have also noted in my diary to get out in the garden and do some stuff.
