The benefit of catching up on your diary after missing a couple of days is that I could skip forward to the good news about the cornflour and avoid fretting. Hope your back has eased with the hot water and the medicinal chocolates.
season's greetings to you and all your MSE diary reading chums.

Many thanks for all your kind festive wishes - much appreciated & returned, festooned with tinselly bits.
Will be back properly soon. Just popping in to remind everyone about all the useful festive/post-festive RESOURCES which are usually hanging around at this time of year. About to throw it out? Stop, look, think.....(I'm sounding like one of those 1970s public information safety films - "Stay away from those overhead wires, kids!") - Could it actually be a free resource, rather than bin-fodder? Could it be re-purposed into something else? Could it be saved for another year instead of buying again next December? Could be savings to be made.
Talk soon,

Thanks Foxgloves. In my family my reputation for reusing is such that yesterday many relatives asked “before I throw this is it any use to you” smile sweetly and say of course it is………9

Couldn't agree more @foxgloves. We had little piles on the floor as we opened our presents....gift bags, paper I had unwrapped carefully to resuse, bubble wrap. Then a pile of recycling & only a very small handful of black bin stuff. All cards are being cut up to make gift tags, with the backs being kept for note paper & chocolate tubs kept for baking/storage. My DD thinks I'm mad. I'm even going to try & grab her unwanted Christmas cards.Making the debt go down and savings go up

To me the automatic reaction to old Christmas cards, wrapping paper is to see what we can save for future use. I keep planning on moving on to reusable fabric wrapping but one wrapping paper stocks seem to never end 🤣 under the tree this year 3 people used the same paper, all reused from last year and some of last year's was from the previous year 🤣Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
